> 3 dayI had to return the unit because it was defective. It wouldnt always start when the computer turned on. I actually put my old unit back in and called it good. However I like the design and look of this fan and I probably just got a defective one and that can happen with any product. I would consider buying again in the future if I needed a case fan.

The reputation of Noctua is far from the hype and rest assured these are worth the extra money ~ obviously they are not the prettiest fans on the market but if you want quiet fans that deliver excellent airflow and pressure then Noctua is light years ahead than all the rest.

> 3 dayContacted Noctua about about my new fan and what appeared to be a quality control failure from the factory. They replied with excuses which were not helpful and certainly didnt resolve anything. When I replied asking them to replace the fan they never responded. So, if you have a problem with your Noctua product, dont count on them being helpful or honoring their warranty. They obviously try to increase sales by offering a long warranty but its utterly meaningless if they just ignore customers who actually request a replacement. Furthermore, Ive done some checking and there are other complaints about their bad (even rude and disrespectful) customer service. Based on my experience with this Noctua fan purchase, I would not recommend it specifically or the brand generally.

The NF-S12A marks the third generation of Noctua’s signature S12 series quiet case fans, which have received more than 250 awards and recommendations from the international press. Featuring a further refined blade design with Anti-Stall Knobs that works in tandem with the new AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame, the NF-S12A improves the airflow/noise efficiency of its renowned predecessor by up to 8%. Anti-Stall Knobs
The NF-S12A"s Anti-Stall Knobs reduce flow separation phenomena in medium to high impedance situations and thereby increase the fan"s stall margin. This means that the NF-S12A is even more versatile than its renowned predecessor and can achieve better performance on heatsinks and radiators.
