27-10-2024Purchased this product back in Nov 2020. Had to return/replace the 1st unit as it was defective. After many trials and tribulations, and calls to tech support (their hold music is terrible) I finally managed to get it working. Fast forward to Oct 21. Having issues with one satellite. It would lose connection for some reason (didnt move it, etc.) Called the tech line and the tech was more interested in selling me their tech support. He took me through some basic items (reboot, etc) which I had already done. Made the situation worse. The main router is now intermittent, the other 2 satellites drop out for unknown reason. So now its not just one unit thats flaky but the whole system. The tech told me to buy support, as the equipment is working properly. Not sure how he comes to that conclusion. Gotta stop with this review, the router might drop out at any point... NETGEAR sure has deteriorated.

> 3 dayI bought this Orbi to increase my reception in my home because the signal strength from Direct TV was inferior. The Orbi has been a problem since Day 1, but I blamed the problem on Direct TV. My TV would intermittently stop receiving the WiFi signal. Over the last 3 months I had a Direct TV technician out to my home twice. Each time they wanted to charge me $99.95 for the visit. Each time the man was in my home for nearly 2 hours. The first guy was to no avail. Previously I had problems with my service so they sent a tech to my home. He recommended I buy a Netgear Orbi system. On his advice I bought this system. I got it and I installed it and it worked fine for a few weeks or a month. Then I started losing my Netflix signal. This happened 3 times and caused me to miss days of service each time, but a service supervisor was able to finally reset from Direct TV HQ. Finally it died again and they sent a tech. He fixed it but a few weeks later it stopped. i have afriend who is a computer tech by trade. He came to my home and re-installed everything and spent 2 hours to finally get it going again. this lasted a couple weeks and then same problem. Direct TV sent another guy here and he couldnt get it to work. He ended up separating my Wired computer with the Orbi and my other Wireless devices Without the Orbi. it just went out again and we determined it is the Netgear ORBI causing the problem. Now I just found out that there was only a 60 day period of time to return it. I am just going to trash it. Dont Buy this piece of junk if you use Direct TV. Its not compatible and the warranty is worthless. Maybe it works with another service, but dont gamble your money. Im calling Amazon in the morning to see what they can do for me. Grade of F+.
