Easy to apply and after a couple of weeks Ive had no problems, the laptop is running well with no overheating issues, running cooler than before the clean but cant say if its down to cleaning or this paste. It covered 2 processors and I still have loads left, I could probably re do the same job 4 more times with the amount I have left

I resurfaced the chips-(CPU & NVidia graphics chip) on my Alienware 14 because it was getting really hot and the cooling-fan was turning on constantly, even when I used a NOTEPAL X-SLIM-Cooler Master, to cool my laptop. I put a pea-size drop of Artic 5 thermal paste on the chips, and after assembly of my laptop; I immediately felt a drop in temperature. The cooling fan would turn on sporadically when its supposed to and not constantly like before. Im satisfied with the product because it worked for me.

> 3 dayWhen you get your cooler, clean the pad off with alcohol, then apply this to cpu and then proceed as usual. Has *NEVER* failed to produce beautiful thermal transfer results.

14-11-2024I’ve been using Arctic silver 5 for years now. It’s the only thermal compound that I’ll use at this point. Works great for water cooling or air cooling and doesn’t dry out fast. This particular lot of it comes with a spreader so that’s a bonus but personally I’ve never had a use for one. It’s reasonably thick but spreads nice. As an added note, this also works well to attach a waterblock to a GPU.

Performance
3 to 12 degrees centigrade lower CPU full load core temperatures than standard thermal compounds or thermal pads when measured with a calibrated thermal diode imbedded in the CPU core.
Coverage Area: A 3.5 gram syringe contains enough compound to cover at least 15 to 25 small CPU cores, or 6 to 10 large CPU cores, or 2 to 5 heat plates. At a layer 0.003" thick, the 3.5 gram syringe will cover approximately 16 square inches

Arctic Silver 5 does not contain any silicone. The suspension fluid is a proprietary mixture of advanced polysynthetic oils that work together to provide three distinctive functional phases. As it comes from the syringe, Arctic Silver 5"s consistency is engineered for easy application. During the CPU"s initial use, the compound thins out to enhance the filling of the microscopic valleys and ensure the best physical contact between the heatsink and the CPU core. Then the compound thickens slightly over the next 50 to 200 hours of use to its final consistency designed for long-term stability. (This should not be confused with conventional phase change pads that are pre-attached to many heatsinks. Those pads melt each time they get hot then re-solidify when they cool.
The viscosity changes that Arctic Silver 5 goes through are much more subtle and ultimately much more effective.)
