> 3 dayThe privacy on this device is that of an Alexa. There is no camera kill switch and there is no microphone kill switch. When you go into the drivers and disable and restart the microphone still continues to work. When you insert a headset with a microphone the device continues to pick up ALL sound even when switched to audio input through headset only. The screen is of good quality and the touch screen is of good quality. I would say it was superior until I purchased a laptop $400 dollars cheaper and realized microsoft is not ahead of the game in any way shape or form with this laptop. In fact they are midrange on all accounts. However, the inability to have control over my devices makes them zero stars regardless of how fancy they are. Also the battery life isnt anything to write home about. And youtubers lied, the fans are noisy, and the computer hot, when you try and have several tabs open and word.

> 3 dayIt wants me to mention “screen quality” “touch screen” and “battery life”. This introduces a lot of bias. The battery life sucks by the way. Only way to charge it is the thing it comes with. After a while it stopped charging. The wall outlet I had put it in wouldn’t work for a few hours after I took it out even with other devices. Yikes. Screen is extremely lazy as it has massive bezels akin to laptops from 2012. Touch is actually fine though.

Greater than one weekI bought the Surface Laptop 3 for work as a software engineer and its perfect. It the right size and with the dock (bought separately) I can easily go from a desktop experience to being on the go in just a couple of seconds. My only complaint is that 250gb just isnt enough storage space and other than an external ssd there really is no expansion capability. Hopefully Microsoft will fix that shortcoming in the future.

> 3 dayI purchased this laptop just under a month ago. It seemed wonderful at first, but then sometimes when I plugged it in it would not charge. Then that more and more frequently happened over the course of the weeks of use. As I write this review now the charger will not charge the laptop. I cannot wipe my personal data from the laptop, because you need to be plugged in to do that. So I cant even return the device wiped. Tried updating the firmware drivers for the battery as instructed. No joy. Tried running their diagnostic tool, and that did not fix the issue. Shipping time for a replacement power supply, 7-14 business days. Faster to return to Amazon, and get a new one. But you loose all the time and effort you put in for setup and software installation. Extremely disappointed given that this is name brand hardware. Failure in less than a month of any component is not acceptable. Save your money, buy a Dell.

> 3 dayThere are so many things to like about the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. The fit and finish, the awesome 3:2 touchscreen display, quite fan, snappy performance, etc. It looks and feels like a premium laptop.

> 3 dayThis has been a great laptop to use for my business. It is very lightweight and easy to walk around with. The screen has great clarity and the graphics are very sharp with the AMD Ryzen 5 processor. It performs very well with all the task I have to run, and never seems to slow down. I do like the touch screen option when needed. I am very happy with my purchase, and Microsoft has put together a solid line with its Surface series.
