> 3 dayWe got these lights to use in our basement/laundry room areas. We had already gotten similar style lights for our kitchen, so we thought wed grab these for the basement due to the ease of installation because we dont need to install can fixtures for this style recessed lighting. This brand is actually pretty good. I actually like these better than the brand we got for our kitchen, but we dont feel like rewiring all the boxes over again. Wiring the boxes is not difficult, but since the lights in the kitchen work OK well just use these for the basement like we intended. These boxes are nice and compact and the wired connectors are just push in style. The wires stay in there securely and you dont have to mess with twisting wires and screwing on caps. Once the box is wired in, it just sits up in the hole where the light is to go. Dont worry, there is an included template for the diameter hole you need. We just used a hole-saw, which I highly recommend. Select which type of light glow/intensity you want prior to clipping your light in place. I like that these have such a range of light, from warm to cool and even one that looks similar to daylight. We like to pick the brightest, which is 5000K, and just use a dimmer switch. The hardest part of installing these lights is just running your own wire to get power to the boxes. I love that you dont have to install can fixtures for these lights. Theyre super lightweight, so the side clips hold them up in the sheet rock hole just fine. I took a picture of the light before we actually installed them into the ceiling (husband wired it), just to see how well they work. The work great and I cant wait to light up my laundry room area with these.

> 3 dayThey are easy to install and I think they look better than the canned version. Very affordable for what you get.

> 3 dayI love everything about these lights. You can select 1 of 5 color temperatures, which is so nice compared to the more traditional can lights where you would have to go to the store and try to buy bulbs that matched the color temperature of your other installed lights. The halo ring light effect is so cool too and is a feature that I have not personally seen in anyones house but my own (after installing these). These were very easy to install and I love the slim form factor. Finally, I love the price! If you break it down, it is about $11 per fixture. I have paid more than that for trim kits for old canned lights! So these are cheaper and more efficient compared to my old setup, which is a win all around!

> 3 dayBefore I go into my review, if you do not know what you are doing or not comfortable doing any kind of electrical work, seek out a licensed electrician to help you install these lights! With that said, I absolutely love these thin recessed LED’s. They are so simple to install, simply cut a hole and pop in the light/junction box and the spring clips hold the light tight against the sheet rock. They provide an incredible quality of light in the room, and they are bright! You don’t need a ton of them to evenly light a room. You can also change the color temperature of them to your liking from a more yellow to blueish hue. I prefer pure white. I think it’s the most complementing color temperature to a room since it doesn’t cast a colored hue on everything. The night light feature is awesome! It casts an orange glow from the edges of the lights across the ceiling. Really awesome effect for setting the mood. I would for sure recommend these lights. You can’t go wrong with recessed LED Trims especially with the night light feature!

> 3 dayThese are nice lights. They are easy to install, you just need the right size hold saw. This works with a standard light switch. The nightlight feature is nice (see photo)

> 3 dayI have gutted a house and have been replacing the ceilings and adding a lot of downlights to both brighten rooms during the short winter days and to highlight different parts of the rooms or to set moods. To do all of that, I made a test bench where I could easily swap out different light switches and LED downlights. Not all switches work with all LED lights and not all LED lights are dimmable. Some downlights make buzzing noises when you try to dim them, others just switch off and others wont dim less than 90% of full brightness. And different switch / LED downlight combinations can achieve different results. These lights by Meconard claim to be dimmable from 3% to 100%. They are not. They maybe go down to 50% if I am being generous and depending on the switch. Some dimmers result in the light turning off if you set the switch too low. Some switches resulted in buzzing from the LED lights, but the buzzing is very soft. I would doubt most people would notice a few feet from the light. The nightlight is also dimmable and it does dim a bit more than the main light, but not to 3%. Switching between the nightlight and the regular light is done by flicking the wall switch and this feature works well. The light comes with the standard metal box where you make your connections. Opening the box to make your connections is easy enough. The light includes quick connects. The wires from the box are tinned and the wires are rigid enough to be able to push in and out of the quick connects unlike stranded copper. You can choose from several different light temperatures which works well. The switch is on the outside of the metal box so you will have to reach up into the ceiling to change the temperature, but this is normal an having the switch on the outside of the box is preferable. Overall, these are nice lights. I do wish they dimmed as much as claimed but they don’t so I am taking off stars for that. Pros: - easily switch between the light and the nightlight - five different color temperatures - come with quick connects and the light is easy to connect and to install, assuming your wiring is all ready to go on your end. - low profile Cons - not as dimmable as claimed and they can buzz with some dimming switches

Greater than one weekEasy to install, almost invisible, and as bright as you need. I installed six in my living room around the perimeter on one circuit and a pair to highlight the fireplace/hearth on another circuit (both have dimmer switches).
