John Guest Speedfit 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/4 Inch Angle Stop Adapter Valve, Push to Connect Plastic Plumbing Fitting, ASVPP1LF

I installed this valve as a shut off valve from the 3/8 incoming water supply to the RO system. Right after installing the valve I got very loud water chatter & vibration. The vibration was so bad that I had to remove the valve and reinstall another one just like it. It too caused very loud vibration in the system. Turning on the faucet or the RO caused this issue. One time it started vibrating loudly, in the middle of the night, all on its own with NOTHING turned on! I removed the valve and looked closely at the design. It actually uses a type of cam design to allow the water to run through the device; NOT a straight thru pipe connection. It appears to be quality made, but the water flow design is quite different. I then ordered a Frizzlife brass feed water adapter of the same dimensions with a normal design. The problem then went completely away. Everything is now running smoothly and quiet.

This is just what I needed. Very well made. Its a plastic valve but it looks like it will last a long time. A piece of advice though. the 3/8 refers to the inside of the water supply line. It will fit a 1/2 compression thread. This gets very confusing since it is not specified and a lot of the fittings refers to the thread rather than the inner tube diameter...

I made it work and work fine, the problem that I had is that I needed to close the female side of the valve and took me a while to figure out the kind of thread needed in the plug. JG needs to explain more about the kind of thread on both sides of the valve. What is more, AMAZON needs a generic graphic of all kind of threads on pipes and tubing.

Installed a new fridge with an ice maker and I needed to plumb in a waterline. Bought one of those plastic tube kits with the saddle valve and I didn’t like the idea of having to pierce the pipe. Started looking for an alternative. Saw this and figured what the heck it had good reviews and glad I did. Install took less than 5 minutes. Just Took off the cold line that ran up to the sink, put in this valve and tighten the nuts down. Just stuff the 1/4” waterline in the hole and it automatically cinches down with the shark fitting. Turned it on and all was good no leaks no nothing. I was amazed and it was done the right way without compromising my plumbing. Wife thought I was mr amazing handyman having it done so fast. Need a waterline, this is the valve to buy. Lead free.

Odd size but great adapter

Most R.O. systems you buy dont include something like this, they only have a straight connection to your cold water supply. This means no way to connect the line to your sink. This little baby solves that problem. It is perfect for installing a reverse osmosis unit and a lot of other stuff also. Another thing to mention is this can install right on top of your existing cold water shut-off valve so you dont have to shut the water off at the meter. You could also use this to only shut off the water to the R.O unit to service it while leaving your sink water on. This is such a must have I really dont see why it isnt included with the R.O. unit.

This value worked perfectly and made my job easier installing my water filtration system. Great product would defiantly recommend.

Bought a new sink and the fitting for my water filter didnt fit the 3/4 connections. Local hardware didnt have these JG fittings, which I needed as my water filter uses the 1/4 plastic tubing. Bought this, and in less than 5 min had my water filter hooked back up.
