I just got this item two days ago because I am getting tired of all the duck pool parties in my yard. The ducks are really cute but they make a mess and one year decided to nest in the yard next to the pool. I was excited about this as a possible way to keep the ducks away. Given that my home is geographically located close to where real alligators exist, I thought some of our local ducks might be wary of the threat of this reptile. But no, a few hours after I put it in the pool the ducks were back. They simply looked at the blow-up alligator and kept on partying. The item is cute enough that I will keep it. But It isnt real durable and may be unable to stay inflated for long periods of time. The coloration is sort of life-like but the head shape is off. I dont think any of this really matters to the ducks. They just keep swimming......

My hopes were high that we could dissuade a mallard pair from making our back yard their personal love nest, but they don’t seem to care much about this air-filled reptile floating with them. It looks like ducks should fear it; however, these two do not. We’ve tried placing it in different areas to no avail. I guess rubber snakes are next.

We purchased this solely as a detterent for duck guests who started visiting the backyard everyday and pooping in the pool. The ducks still drop by every few days to check for bird seed in the yard but they have not been seen in the water and there has not been any poop in the pool since adding the float 10 days ago. The float looks very life-like especially as it glides across the water with the breeze.

I bought this to keep ducks out of our pool. It is super flimsy and has a huge hole to inflate it which means the air leaks out before you can close it. I cant believe I paid $20 for it. It probably cost 10 cents to make. Im waiting for it to take flight out of pool in the wind. Its just plastered against the wall. Pretty sure ducks will be laughing at it later as they visit.

So far this Croc (we named it Dundee) has kept the ducks away from our pool. The ducks used to fly right down into the pool, now they land about 40 feet away, observe for a minute, then fly away. Well see if they figure it out in the future

A family of ducks came to my pool from the leg half a mile away. They were so cute, but the 1st day, 7 of the 12 duck babies died. I had to get them to a safer place and keep them out of my pool. I saw on Reddit that people put inflatable alligators in their pools to keep the ducks away. I bought this one, and took the babies to the lake. However mama was not deterred by the alligator and continued to return to my pool. The alligator is funny but it doesnt work to keep the ducks away.

Why do I need a blow up gator? BECAUSE. This is the best!! I love it and I would keep it out always if I had room. It inflates well and easy. We used him for a pirate party and will take him to the beach next summer. Obvs we will have a leash so he doesnt get away.

After having our pool for many years, duck visits were a new thing for us. They were coming daily, up to 4 ducks at a time. My pristine pool was in peril not to mention the cool deck, I needed help quick. After doing internet research, this item got the best reviews. When I got it home I could see why, this thing looks REAL. It sits up on its arms and the yellow eyes look menacing. I attached some fishing line to keep it more centered in our large pool and so far so good. Thanks for the neat product!

We ordered this hoping that, as other reviews said, it would keep the ducks out of our pool. They were landing in our pool several times a day and creating a mess. As soon as Sparky the Gator went in the pool, no ducks dared to go in it. Im sure they dont know what an alligator is, but since its 4 feet long, they just arent sure what to make of it as it floats around the pool. A couple watched it from the poolside for a short time, but never got in the water and they havent been back since. So happy that this worked!

Don’t waste your money. Have had this croc pool floater for about 4 weeks. It held air for about a week and then slowly started losing air. Every 3-4 days, would have to blow back up. Now, I blow it back up and two days later, almost totally deflated. Also, it didn’t do anything to deter the ducks or mallards from coming to our pool. I’m in the Southwest region and ducks migrating south from Alaska or western Canada aren’t familiar wth crocs and gators.
