> 3 dayOrder this hole puncher to secure a thick water resistant cotton tarp around my chickens coop using nylon cable ties. Instead of using another sharp instrument, which causes ragged tears, this punch allowed me to make the holes exactly where needed and through multiple layers of material. The holes are neat and there are no loose threads visible. I can see this working well with vinyl, plastic and other soft materials for a multitude of uses.

> 3 dayI am very pleased with all of the quality features of this hand operated hole punch. Many of the hole punches I have used in the past have been sharpened hollow tubes that cut through the material forcing the “hole” up through the tube while pressing the sharpened edge against a flat surface (usually of solid metal). This often results in a slightly frayed edge on the hole where part of the sharpened edge didn’t quite touch the surface. And this only gets worse with more use because the blade gets dulled by being pressed against the supporting surface. This hole punch operates differently: the beveled punch head cuts through the material at a dual angle (which helps maintain a straight edged cut) and then pushes the “hole” down through a matching hole in the supporting surface in a scissoring action and forcing the waste “hole” freely out of the tool. Each of the “punch” sizes has a matching “hole” that avoids any metal to metal contact - the punch slides freely through the matching hole - thus preventing any dulling of the punch caused by the working of the tool itself. There is, also, an adjustable throat depth guide to keep a series of holes spaced exactly the same distance away from the guide edge. This is an exceptionally well designed tool.

> 3 dayThis punch came in a plain, recyclable box, with poly-foam padding (not recyclable). In some ways, this punch is much better than the cheap punch I purchased at a local hardware store several years ago. The V blades definitely make holes cleaner, and more easily than the straight style of my older one. While the depth guard makes it very handy to make consistently spaced holes, it also limits how deep the punch can go. Still, it should be fine for 90% of the belts out there. My only complaint is that it seems like a slightly complicated device in its different adjustment options. I figured it out (I think), but a set of illustrated directions is needed.

> 3 dayI recently decided that I needed to lose weight and managed to drop 20+ pounds. As a result, I have twice needed to punch new holes in my belts but lacked a leather holepunch so when I saw this one I decided to give it a shot and am very happy with it. I have used it already and it works really nicely. The grips are soft, non slippery, and spring loaded. It was actually delivered in, what I consider, excessive protection -- basically in styrofoam that was carefully form-fitted to the tool. It fits in the styrofoam so tightly it is actually a little difficult to remove (I like when companies care about their products getting to their customers in prestine condition).

> 3 dayIt takes strength and a lot of squeezing pressure to punch holes in a quality mens leather belt, which typically has 2 layers of leather. All the punches I had bought in the past were not strong enough for the job and would bend out of shape very quickly. I had nearly given up, but decided to give this one a try thanks to Amazons return policy. But this one is a keeper. It is very well-made with sturdy metal parts. I punched 2 dozen clean holes in heavy leather belts with relative ease.

> 3 dayGood leather punch! The hole puncher cuts cleaner than most other tools! The cutter is on the flat end and not the actual puncher tube, so the bits if leather don’t get stuck, and the hole cuts much cleaner! Easy to align to the material to have precise holes. The pliers have good leverage to punch through tough leather, and I have also used it on canvas. Great tool to have in the toolbox! Looks very well made, and easy to use. Great price!

> 3 dayIts not like I was looking for a leather punching tool. I already my fathers vintage leather punching tool like was sold in leather craft magazines and hadnt thought about upgrading until I saw this tool. First, I notice the angled cutters on each of the punches. Then I notice the ram effect for compound leverage. There is a throat depth adjustment of up to 20mm and a spring-loaded return-to-open handle. The largest hole size it will punch is 4.5mm. I dug out my old leather belt that is 3-4mm thick and punched a few holes. The prong of the buckle is too large to fit in that 4.5mm hole, so I punched another hole next to it to elongate the size of the hole and those 2 holes together allowed the prong to slide through the belt strap. Other belts had prongs small enough to easily fit a 4.5mm hole. The smallest hole size is 2.0mm, which I would explore for stitching holes. An adjustable anvil at the bottom of the stroke is rotated to accommodate each hole / punch size. It is adjusted with the hex key which is stored in the handle.
