Amazing for gaming and video editing.

Picked up from the deals section, was an open box returned item. Was a bit nervous but when it arrived was exactly what I ordered, had an inspection sticker, installed no problem, gaming rig is up and running

As said in the title a waste of time as the item arrived broken. like new doesnt mean what it used to.

I cant say much about this CPU. Its very stable and amicable when it comes to overclocking it, a considerable bump to my previous i5 6600k making it noticeable not only on gaming but mostly, on streaming and a bit of music mixing (Im a bit of an audiophile user but to a moderate level). Couldnt be more happier with it!

Bought with a ASUS ROG B360-G motherboard about a year ago now. The CPU is fast and works great, both in games but also in photo and video editing. Value-wise, Ryzen is the better buy I feel, but I had issues trying to use 1st-gen Ryzen so I had decided to switch back to Intel, hence this i7-8700. I set the motherboard to keep the CPU at 4.3GHz (max all-core turbo) during heavy workloads, which is about the best fake overclock you can do on this CPU, and with the B360 chipset. Cooling the CPU is a CRYORIG M9i cooler I already owned.
