> 24 hourThis is a stunning lens! Arguably, along with the XF 16mm f 1.4 WR, the finest prime lens in the Fujinon XF lineup. Ultra sharp, including in the corners, its build quality, auto focus and bokeh are all outstanding. Its a supeb APSC equivalent of the classic full frame 50mm lenses. The linear motor is silent and the colour rendition beautiful. Though heavier than the older FX 35mm 1.4 and the 35mm f2 , it balances well on all the XT cameras. A note to Fujifilm: it would be nice if it came with a little black bag which, historically, has been a nice touch with previous superior XF series lenses.

> 24 hourAbsolutely silent and fast focusing linear piezo-electric motors - perfect for videography and general photography alike. Great sun stars, perfectly optically corrected. The downside is the size and price, but given its merits, youll likely forgive its vices and reach for it almost every time.

> 24 hourAs a former Sony owner I was somewhat disappointed with the performance of older Fuji lenses until I purchased this lens. By all measures I believe the new 33, 18, and 23mm Fuji primes are on par with Sony’s G/GM optics. The LM system is much faster and more accurate than previous motors, and optically these lenses are incredibly sharp and corrected such that the images are near perfect. “Clinically perfect” is a term some people use because lens distortions add some form of character, but I don’t see this lens as clinical due to Fuji’s color science and let’s face it, you can always add character in post. IMO this 33mm (50mm FF equivalent) is the standard that future Fuji lenses should be judged by.

> 24 hourCrisp and clear. Not sure how to review a lens, but I works great. Used it as my main lens for a wedding I did recently. Extremely impressed with the sharpness of this lens.

> 24 hourI love the image quality and size of the original 35 1.4, but the autofocus on that thing. woof. It just couldn’t keep up especially in low light.

> 24 hourThis lens was given to me as a birthday gift. While the photo quality is beautiful, I was sent a defective lens. Upon placing the lens on my x-t20, I would intermittently get the prompt turn off the camera and turn on again. Whenever I would get this prompt, my lens would make a loud thud noise when attempting to turn on. I returned this item today, but once I get my refund I plan to purchase it again in hopes that I will get a working product. I will write another review once I receive my new lens.

> 24 hourNot sure why everyone so exited about the new 33mm lens. Almost from the beginning my favorite Fuji primes were 35mmf1.4 and 56mmf1.2 and while I enjoyed them very much I have always silently begged Fuji to make new versions with fast linear motors and weather resistance. In case of new 56mm i was happy to swap for the new version, though they botched release with stepper instead of linear motor. As for 35mm vs 33mm after comparing them for a month I decided to stay with the good old 35mm. Why ? Because despite all those shortcomings with slow motor and lack of WR- I felt that it’s character and magic were unmatched. 33mm is okay lens with somewhat sterile performance. Yes it has quick and silent motor i begged for and WR, but most important aspect of having great prime - optical magic is not there. It is close sometimes to 35mm but still not there. Also I didn’t see any promised improvements in sharpness and contrast to match my new X-H2 sensor. Another issue for me was that difference in focal range. While on the paper 33mm and 35mm sounds very close, in reality I felt that difference was more like having something close to 30mm. Anyway I just sold it and my beloved old 35mmf1.4 remains in my bag. Pity, because Fuji started so well but right now some of their management clearly affected by some grey bureaucrats promoting puzzling mediocrity like PASM dials and launching ridiculous f8 tele lenses. Not a good trend.
