Very poorly made and difficult to put together. Very flimsy. You cannot move the lamp in any direction or the clip falls apart. Do yourself a favor spend a little more money and get a better one

I’ve had this for a little under a year as a heat source for my hedgehog. I don’t know the average lifespan of these lamps so maybe that’s rather good, however, when a new bulb stopped working apparently too soon, I swapped it out with another thinking it was a dud bulb. I walked away for five minutes and smelled something funny, only to come back to the heat lamp smoking! I immediately unplugged it and made sure my hedgehog was okay (she is) but wow, I’m really glad I was nearby and noticed before it harmed my hedgehog or caught fire. No picture of the smoke since writing a review wasn’t really my first thought haha, but here’s Peanut :) I really hope if you buy this product that you check it regularly or simply replace it after a good while of use. I don’t blame the manufacturer as like I said, I had this nearly a year, I just wish it had stopped working entirely as a means of dying, instead of becoming a fire hazard.

It is excellent product. The cheapest one I found. I am using it on my aquarium. Before I had a table lamp but it did not has any clamp. Rashid

*BUYER BEWARE* I had this set up to a thermostat for my hedgehog, it powers on and off as it needs to keep a certain temperature. I was using this lamp for 4 months until it stopped working properly, my thermostat alarm was going off because the cage was getting to cold, I thought I just had to switch out the bulb and when I put in the new bulb it started making electrical noises and smelt funky. I then looked at the older bulb and noticed the top of it was melted onto the lamp! It got so hot the METAL melted. Im so happy my lamp was connected to a thermostat that way I was alerted something was wrong, I wouldve gone all day before realizing something was up and who knows what wouldve happened. I do not recommend buying this particular lamp, I see other people complaining about it being a fire hazard after months of use. (First picture is the melted bulb, 2nd picture is what its supposed to look like, 3rd picture is the metal melted to the lamp)

They are a little too big for 20 gallon habitat but they work great. clamp is decently strong. they dont get too hot to the touch (they do get hot, which is to be expected). the only thing I didnt like is that it does not come with instructions to put it together. A quick 3 minute set up but took at least 5 to figure it out. it needs to come with instruction for ease. it was like a fun little puzzle but most ppl would probably not appreciate the mind tease.

Should be unsafe for animals. Tried to use it for my snake for the first time and it shattered her tank
