Ordered the 6 pack because it seemed like a great deal but I only received 1 filter and no help on getting my other 5!

    Greater than one week

These work great and it is always nice to have a spare filter on hand.

Ive been using the Filtrete purple (MPR 1500) filters for a while now. Our house was built in 1963, and it appears (according to the A/C service folks) that the A/C was installed in 1990, and the compressor was updated in 2000. Its a very old system, but its been very reliable in the almost 10 years weve been here. Its been able to keep the house cool even during the hottest days (admittedly, it doesnt get too hot around here - our max temp is around 95 degrees, but its VERY humid and our house seems to like to hold heat). At night, it would even reliably hold a very cool 72 degrees (were wimps where heat is concerned). That said, as we get older, Ive found that Im very susceptible to respiratory ailments. So I decided to upgrade the filter to this MPR 1900. And the first day we turned on our A/C this summer, it couldnt keep up. It wasnt even that hot of a day (~80 to 85 degrees). In fact, it was so bad, we had the A/C service guy out, and he found lots of problems with the system - all leading up to the big reveal .... the system wasnt getting airflow. We took out the filter and VOILA! System was happy (or happier) again. We didnt make the connection until he said he thought the system wasnt getting enough airflow and asked us to drop the filter out so he could verify. When we did that, I finally made the connection. I wont deny that our system is very, very old and it may be coincidence that it needed repairs (and it did). But I wouldnt bet $15K+ on a new system just to use a higher rated filter in my situation. YMMV - for example, those with severe allergies may need this filter, or if you have a good/strong/efficient/new A/C system, you have not have these issues. Likewise, some of the repairs seemed to indicate the issue wasnt solely with the filters - our compressor needed 2 lbs of freon(!) - but the A/C repair tech definitely said NOT to use these filters in our system going forward unless we have to. And I wont be - Ill go with something much more conservative, like the

The first Filter lasted only one month most likely due to California Fire Smoke, and that’s with a quality Whole House Air Filter, and two plug in Air Filters. It was filthy, so it’s obviously working as intended. I definitely plan to reorder.

Ive been using these for 3 years as an upgrade from MPR 1500 rated filters. No issues, performs as expected. I change the filters out every 3 months as recommended and they are pretty dirty by that point. If you are looking for a good balance of performance and price, I highly recommend these files.

Good filter but I think they are all high priced. As for restricting air flow, if this situation exits in your home then the return air size is too small for your home it has nothing to do with the quality of the filter it’s a sizing issue
