Though these are great, the bases of these lamps eventually come loose. Sometimes you can simply screw the lamp piece back into the porcelain, but other times, they are just broken. Weve bought some used and some new. Some seem more durable than others, but theyre all not bad. The bases dont get hot, but the domes do of course. I recommend, just keep in mind to be careful moving it around a lot, because the bases do come loose and effectively fall apart, though they usually still work afterwards.

Ive had this for 2 years now and honestly the glow should not be its selling point. Even brand new it only lasted 20 minutes. Now 2 years later the glow is hardly noticeable in a dark room and lasts barely 5 minutes. What I DO like about this dome fixture is the 10 inch base and the high build quality. This is the only dome fixture to survive 3 moves in the last 2 years and 14 hour day cycles. Its been bumped, dropped, stuffed in boxes, and it still works. My other reptiles have the smaller 8.5 inch deep domes and theyve destroyed bulb after bulb because the dome is too deep with too few air vents that the bulb overheats and shuts itself off. Never had that problem with this dome. Ill be replacing all my fixtures with this. Trust me, its worth the price.

Lamp is good quality however it arrived with damaged cord, I had to replace it. Item title is misleading saying Light and Reflector I thought I will receive bulb as well.

Very good lamp for me I have to use 120 and 150 watt bulbs when my AC is on for my chameleon. This fixture gives my bulbs a few more weeks than my old fixtures. I have also recently found 120 watt Philips Argo plant lights and is working great.
