Works alright. The cables are high quality and long enough to easily reach anywhere in my midtower. However, whenever the CPU / GPU are under load, the power supply just starts whining like mad. My wife got the same model, and hers whines a little less than mine, but its still clearly there. Ill probably still keep it, but I guess Ill just do my gaming with headphones.

It’s a solid PSU and it’s nice a quiet. Very reliable

Since I had the computer half taken apart to replace the chassis fan, I decided to do a PSU upgrade as well. This gives me the capability to replace my GTX 1070 with a more beefy video card when Im ready. The EVGA 750 PSU is well packed and comes with plenty of cables and even a test connector so you can power it up without having it connected to a motherboard. This is handy for verifying it is functioning and for possibly working on water cooled equipment when you dont want your CPU/GPU running.

Ordered one and installed and noticed that when windows is running, there is an intermittent noise similar to the sound an old hard drive makes when reading. When just running the BIOS setup, theres no noise whatsoever. EVGA just said to make sure nothing was getting in the fan (uh, duh...). Returned first one and ordered second one (I didnt want to have to undo all the power lead routing and securing Id already done). Second one makes same noise. Im going to just live with it for now, but Ill be looking at a a different manufacturer for the next one.

Its super quiet, even with Eco mode off, it stays cool under load, and delivers the promised power. I would probably recommend the same one to others, but with some caveats:

Previous power supply was a 2014 EVGA SuperNova 850G2. Fast forward to 2022 and it was easily chugging along with zero problems in its 7 years of service. Installed new in a 4th gen i7 rig all the way up to a 10th gen i9 machine. Worked great. Still has warranty and it will be kept as a spare. I got the 850G6 to replace it for a 12th gen build. Its silent under load and provides ample power for 12700k and rtx 3070. Its smaller in size by 20 to 30 mm in length which gives me more room for cable management. Fired right up no issues. Hopefully I can get another 7 plus years!! If youre on the fence, just go for it. You wont get a better PS at this price point (on sale for 104.99) Even at full retail...its a bargain.

The modular and plentiful connectors made for a clean build as compared to some complex harness systems. Simple and generally forgotten component, but nothing works without one., Gold is the best quality and most reliable. Who needs a dead computer?

Easy to setup. Instructions were simple and to the point. Being full modular was great for installing.
