> 3 dayI have a dedicated home theater room with a 120 inch screen, surround sound, etc. I had a Panasonic projector that did OK for a number of years but its now about 8 years old and I was getting more and more disappointed with the image quality even though its a 1080 projector. My problem was that Id see something on my LG OLED and the Panasonic didnt come close. Theres also the fact that it was getting old and I wanted a better picture. Ive waited and waited for better projectors to hit the market. I wanted 4K but the prices were prohibitive. But, manufacturers started selling sorta 4K (my term) with HDR. So, I jumped in with this one. Setup was incredibly simple. I plugged in my HDMI cable, plugged in the power, turned it on and voila - it worked. I had to mess with it for a bit for my screen size and I had to dial down the color mode. The factory preset was dynamic which would probably be great for a bright family room but in my blacked out theater room - not so much. On that subject. There are four color mode presets - dynamic, bright cinema, natural, and cinema. You can change settings within each of these and you can save those changes. I have mine hanging from the ceiling and was able to adjust everything so the picture was straight on the screen. I dont use the speakers but I did give them a try so I could see what they were like. Theyre pretty average stereo speakers that do an OK job. If I was using this now and then in a family room or at work Id be happy with the sound but I prefer my 7.2 home theater setup. With 3000 lumens and 100,000:1 contrast ratio youd expect a great picture and you wouldnt be wrong. Like I said before, I had to dial the brightness down for my home theater but its nice to have it if I ever need it. I purposely watched the same movie (Avatar) back to back with my old Panasonic and then the Epson. No contest. The Epson was significantly sharper and brighter (in a good way) than my old 1080 projector. After movies, I fired up the XBox and played some games. I dont have any 4K games but the games I do have were much crisper than they were with the Panasonic. Ive tweaked a few settings since I got comfortable with this projector mostly because I could. Other than the color mode (brightness) it was really OK out of the box. Is it better than my 1080 projector? Heck yes. Is it better than my LG 65 inch OLED? No but its a heck of a lot closer than before.

> 3 dayReceived this on 3/18/21. This is a replacement for an older Epson projector. The difference in quality, clarity, brightness, and overall viewing pleasure is significant. The picture is so crisp and clear, I can see eye brow hairs on the butler in Downton Abby! So glad we purchased this product. We would highly recommend this. The whites are bright and I may adjust them down but would much rather brightness than dark and dull. My only regret is that we didnt upgrade sooner. I have a theater room and this projector is approximately 12-13 feet away from an 8x5 screen.

11-11-2024Wanted to start out with the unboxing, this is a solid unit in which you need a quality ceiling mount (Id recommend a professional if you arent that handy). Now this has your basic setup steps to go through as soon as you turn the unit on but I would recommend doing some research and reading on this unit as there is so much more advanced tweaking you can do. I made some presets and am able to change setting based on room brightness, screen aspect ratio, etc. You have a couple HDMI slots, USB plugs, Mini USB, Audio, etc so should be all you need to hook up any devices you need. The picture with 4k is so clear and crisp, the details just jump out at you and if you pay attention it is almost like you are looking our your window or outside it is just that real. My kids love it as it makes it seem like every night is a movie theater night and we no longer have a bulky tv setup to look at. Wanting to get a retractable screen for it to make our setup look a lot cleaner but currently just have a regular screen. Also, I hooked up with our wireless surround sound effortlessly, there was no sound delay and to me it was a hassle free experience. I have had other TV setups that were a lot more challenging but this was easy. Cant say enough good things about this unit, just really makes the family movie experience that much more delightful! Would highly recommend!

> 3 dayHave already made plans to have a drive-in night when the weather warms up. Was able to get a 70 plus inch picture from 10 feet away. Great picture clarity, color and contrast, easily viewed in a sunlit room and no deterioration of quality at larger sizes. The picture is very adjustable and and the controls are full-featured and duplicated on the unit and remote. The picture orientation is slightly down, the unit is designed to be hung overhead. The unit is huge and heavy you will want to make sure it is well secured hung overhead, maybe have it sit high on top of some furniture at the back of the room. The power cord appears to be about 10 feet long great for reaching that power socket lower down the wall. The Bluetooth is practically an afterthought and clearly not the preferred way they want you to hear the sound, it is only A2DP compliant. It really is designed to be installed and left in one place with wire connected speakers. If that is what you are looking for it is highly recommended for you.

> 3 dayI bought the epson 3800 renewed from Amazon and I could not focus the projector whatsoever. Focus uniformity across the four quadrants was horrible. I doubt I’ll pursue another electronics purchase from Amazon. A huge waste of time.

> 3 dayGreat projector. Works very well with an awesome picture. Mounting holes are non-standard so was a little difficult finding a mount that would work with it. Everything else with it is great.

> 3 dayI switched to this from my old 3000 Lumen 720p projector. I had expected a clarity improvement, but I was unsure about the drop down to 2900 Lumens since the 3000 wasnt great in a brighter environment that I sometimes have. Im pleased to say that I was blown away by the improvement in clarity and completely surprised by the brightness. I know the rating is 100 Lumens lower, but it seems significantly brighter than my old projector.
