> 3 dayI was in the market for a project for under $1000 and this one was constantly rated at the top of the charts. I have a dedicated room so I can control the light fairly well and was blown away upon turning it on. The quality and color is great and even in eco mode has plenty of light to show a movie with moderate ambient light. The project has vertical as well as horizontal keystone correct which helps mounting it as it doesnt have to be perfect. I watched a couple of movies now and love every single one. I have a 144in screen at 15ft back. While the projector looked good on my wall paired with the Carls ProWhite I was blown away. The colors pop and the contrast looks good. Im sure the contrast would look better on a higher end projector but its left me nothing to complain about.

> 3 dayI purchased this unit as a replacement for a Benq W1070 DLP projector. I had read many great things about Epson projectors, and hoped to enjoy this one as much as I did my last projector. Unfortunately it turns out that the LCD technology that this projector and other like it use, just isnt for me. it is not inherently BAD, but the black levels are simply nothing close to what they are on a DLP projector. All of the color contrast in the world simply doesnt make up for the fact that this projector can only produce a dark gray on its best day. That being said, I am sure that there are plenty of happy owners out there, this one just wasnt for me. Pros: -Easy installation -Fast startup and shutdown -Able to be used in rooms with ambient light -Cheap replacement bulbs Cons: -Poor black levels -Heavy pixelation compared to DLP at same seating/throw distance -Image dimming effect based on amount of white/ black on screen Bottom Line: Make your own judgment, but if you want a Movie Theater Quality projector experience, stick with DLP.

> 3 dayFeatures are good , 3d is best but wished would be a little brighter . PS4 works flawless, gaming is awesome, movies are fair too. And all who complaining about black levels and s*** are wasting your time .Understand this , for deep blacks performance even for TV it will cost around 2 gs for a 55 to 60 inch .Hell even 4ks couldnt cut it through , and the reason is simple it depends on the viewing distance , average 10 to 12 feet everything looks the same 1080 or 4k , unless u buy bigger tv which is all above 3grands .Dont fall for the gimmicks used , as a user experience and price this is a big bang for the buck .It deserves 5 stars for competitive price . Handy tip Use preset 3 for blue ray and 3d movies , will make a lot better .And if u dont care about lamp hours then use cinema bright , the best 100 inch in u r wall

> 3 dayThis projector is ok. Its not the best, but its not the worst either. For a sub $1000 projector it is pretty good. Why only 3 stars? The projector has a manual lens cover for starters. If youre mounting this higher up, youll need a stool to reach for it every time. A slight annoyance, not a huge deal breaker though. The particular unit I received had very severe color separation from the lcds not being matted together perfectly. I ran all sorts of tests as you can see in the photos. I believe this is outside what can be considered tolerable. Maybe it was a manufacturing defect, but I was disappointed. I am very sensitive to it, which is also why I opted for the LCD vs DLP projectors. The unit is bright, but that also comes with a sacrifice... noise. When you have it set to bright, its LOUD! On the other brightness settings the fans really quiet down and I found it to be bright enough even during the day time. Ive had a PLV-Z4 for 8 years and its been a great projector. Ill be looking at upping my price and testing out the 5030 soon. Overall, this is a decent little guy, but I found too many cons to outweigh the pros for my particular set up.

Greater than one weekThis thing rocks! TV, Movies, Gaming, for the price you cant beat it. Ive had it for almost 9 months and started on the existing 100 inch screen, then expanded to 125 with a screen I built with blackout cloth. I would go bigger, but the wall I am projecting on is inset. The 1080P HD picture is bright and beautiful and will easily handle indirect light, even on eco mode. Brighter rooms and/or direct light will wash out the picture some, especially with darker shows. 3D works well enough for me, even for video games. Online gaming is great now with no noticeable lag. The projector it replaced definitely had lag and would routinely find ourselves on the losing end of a melee. Not any more. Again, this thing rocks! I did a lot of research. Went back and forth between this one, the BenQs, the Optomas, high end, low end, etc. I would love to try out to the BenQ to be able to compare, but I am more than thrilled with this Epson. If you are new to buying a projector, like I was, make sure you know exactly where you are going to mount it and the projectors throw angle, throw distance and zoom capability (throw range). These where variables that I did not originally consider, but ended up being one of the bigger variables I had to reconcile with my mounting limitations before ordering. Performance, price, features, replacement lamp cost . . . . you cannot do better! You will not be disappointed.

> 3 dayI have been using projectors for my home cinema for 16 years on a white wall. People have always been impressed by the size of the picture, but didnt comment much about the quality. This projector has a picture quality that is so bright and detailed that nobody believes its coming from a projector. This is an amazing projector for this price. I have a 110in picture at 13ft away hung from a ceiling mount. If your on a budget like I am, you cant go wrong with this projector. The bulb that comes with this projector is impossible to find. Replacements range in price from $25 to just over $100 and could not fine the exact same one it came with, makes it impossible to duplicate after the bulb goes out. So enjoy it out of the box because youll never repeat it as Epson does not sell a original replacement.

13-11-2024With this purchase, one thing I have learnt is to always purchase products from trusted brands. My new Epson Home Cinema LCD projector is an amazing device, perfect for my basement home theater. The picture quality is impeccable, 35000:1 contrast ratio provides a very good rendition of black levels. 2200 lumens is just enough for my needs. Could not have found a better projector at this price. I am extremely happy with this purchase. The Good: Image quality, color rendition, brightness levels are perfect. 35000:1 contrast ratio Decent inbuilt speakers. Quieter than many other projectors I have seen 2 HDMI ports Light and Small Simple IR Remote The Bad: (which is not so bad) No optical audio port slight vibration (which is probably a normal characteristic of projectors, but I have seen Epsons that just do not vibrate - of course they are in a higher price band) All in all I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to buy an inexpensive projector for their home theater. Good buy! Tip: Wait for a Thanksgiving deal to buy this item, I bought mine for $499

> 3 dayI want to give it 4.5 stars and it deserves it. I have had a couple glitches, cant seem to hook a sound bar up to it for one and it has just stopped on me a few times. I have it on a 4X7 screen and Im glad I have it. I researched projectors for 3 weeks, reading everything I could get my eyes on, visiting home theater stores, talking to people with projectors and I ended up with this. It was between this and the BenQ and the price and durability of bulbs pushed me in this direction. Im pleased.

> 3 dayPicture is great. Projector is small. No lens shift on this model which I didnt think was a big deal because I will just use the keystones to adjust the picture. You can do this, but be aware that when you use the keystones to adjust the picture there will be a slight ghosting effect where the picture was located. I couldnt live with this and ended up dropping the projector down far enough from the ceiling to keep from using the keystone adjustments. I wish I would have purchased a unit with lens shift. The only other con is it does have a noticeable fan noise and generate enough heat to change the temperature in a 200 sq ft room.

> 3 dayI purchased this projector exactly 1 year ago on black Friday for $499 and I have put about 100 hours on it. It was my first projector purchase and we have really enjoyed it! Pros: Video games and animated movies look awesome! If I ever use it enough the replacement bulbs are cheap. Neutral: Quite a few people said the black levels were not the greatest, I dont notice it too much and for the price I am not complaining! Watching TV on it through XBox One looks good but when watching sports I do notice some motion blur when the screen pans very fast. I have messed with frame interpolation setting but it still exists. Cons: No Lens Shift. I wish I would have researched this more when I made the purchase. If you want to hang it on your ceiling it is going to hang really far down. For now it is sitting on a stand in the middle of the room. This is the only reason I took 1 star off.
