> 24 hourThe setting is French urban chic. The central character plus friend are both bosses of their video-gaming company. Female leadership and therefore the drive to characterization is from that sex. The protagonist is dealing with various levels of complicated relationships: with her son, with her mother, with her ex-husband, with her lover, and with the desired focus on the particular game being developed. In that context, the unfolding story is how she responds to being raped; violent in itself. Its the unfolding twists - twisted even reactions that take ones breath away. There is a deep psychological dimension. For some who might explore more, read Whose Been Sleeping in Your Head.

> 24 hourI am great fan of French films and although this is a hard film it is one I had to see as it is brutal and honest. I cannot say I liked it but it was indeed fascinating and the story I am sure will be eventually told as an American film but I doubt it will be better done but it may be equaled. The photography and scene set up is flawless and the acting nothing short of excellent. If you can watch a film that brutally attacks you and makes one think of the victim standing up and dealing with issues that are all to common then this is the project for you. But, be warned you must be brave and not put off by the subtitles because this is a story that happens everywhere and as they actions speak louder than any words.

A comment if I could
> 24 hourWell...life is complicated...especially if youre French. But I actually kind of liked it in a perverse sort of way. Interesting story with a strong female lead.

> 24 hourIm a longtime fan of Isabelle Hupert, and this role is perfect for her. Im glad her age is not a deterrent any longer as makeup and care can help great actresses play younger roles in films. We can enjoy Isabelle Huperts formidable skills much longer. Good thriller film with unpredictable plot.

> 24 hourThe French must really like their sex! That part was no surprise. But mixed in with a screwed up family and a collossal crime the story held it all together to he very end.

Joans opinion
> 24 hourHands down, the most peculiar film Ive ever seen. Perhaps the comedy is lost in the cultural translation from French to American but it was not to my taste! The subject matter is distasteful and if this is what the French define as comedy, well, its all just wrong in my opinion. The main characters disregard for not only herself but those around her is startling and disturbing. Do, I regret spending time on this film, no. But would I ever recommend someone take time out of their life to view it, absolutely not.

> 24 hourIsabelle Huppert was outstanding. All the acting was excellent. On the surface, the plot seems straightforward enough, but it is not. The psychological profiles of the lead actress (Huppert) and the rapist were extremely complicated. to say the least. All of this is my opinion of course, but the character of Elle did not appeal to me. She was a mix of both masochist and sadist stemming from a hideous childhood trauma. The rapist was just that; a violent rapist who beat his victims. I dont know if the Director was trying to get a romantic spin on rape or not (I hope not), but Ill just keep to my opinion that they were two of the worse people I would never like to meet.
