Installed this on my 2013 21.5 iMac. It made a huge difference in boot times and just the computers responsiveness overall. Glad I bought this. That said, this particular ssd is not necessarily better than others — nor is it worse. Its just the most affordable option I found.

Ive been using SSDs pretty much since they were released, first just a 128gb drive for my OS and I kept my platter HDDs, then I decided to get a 500gb SSD for some storage, (both of these were Samsungs). I then upgraded my moms PC with Crucial SSD and I was very impressed with the speed and easy installation and maintenance. So for my most recent build I used an M.2 500gb for my OS drive and stepped up to these 2tb Crucial MX500s for storage and so far I couldnt be happier. I built the PC and before the build was complete I did experience a fatal Windows crash as soon as I attempted to Update the Crucial SSD Firmware but this may have been caused by a number of things since, at the time, all of the hardware (mobo, cpu, drives, etc.) had just came onto the market. Ive had zero issues since. If you need some more speed and/or storage from your PC the 2tb is the way to go. If money is an issue keep your eye open for sales, and of course always backup your data. (Since I only have SSDs in my PC in addition to online backup I keep a few HDDS in a dock and use various methods of backup). If you frequently use USB storage be sure to invest in a high speed USB drive, whatever size you need, because a nice USB 3.0 or even better a 3.1 stick transferring to and from a nice SSD is a thing of beauty lol, its so fast!

It is a great SSD just follow the instructions from the crucial.com. My wife Dell with windows is booted and ready for password on less than 30 seconds. It is awesome great job Crucial

1A Preis-Leistung und stabile Performance: Ich habe 4 MX500 500GB verbaut (+ 1 x BX100 250GB, 1 x MX300 525GB, 2 x Samsung PM961 256GB) die Crucials bringen absolute Bestwerte! Und das auch auf Dauer! Die Leistung bleibt stabil! Nur Samsung ist da noch einen Tick besser, aber auch etwas teurer. In Sachen Speicher Chips macht Samsung keiner was vor, egal ob SSD, RAM, USB Sticks oder Speicherkarten. Aber Crucial (Micron) ist gleich ganz dicht auf Platz 2!

Ich wollte mein Lap Top etwas schneller und Laut Spezialist war (ist) die genau die richtige!
