Bought 2 x 8gb and worked straight out of the box. Started up computer, logged in and there it was - 16gb and works flawlessly.

Initially got this RAM, was good. However, ever since Ive been having issues with my computer. Blue Screens of Death linked to Memory Management, and other errors linked to memory. Just took it out and put in my old RAM, and issues cleared up. Added this memory back in, and its not even being recognized by my system, or only half at a time is being recognized. Really is a shame was really looking forward to the upgrade.

Bought this set of RAM for a brand new PC build. For the first week I experienced crashes at odd intervals, there didnt seem to be much rhyme or reason as to when it would occur. After about a week I, with some help, was able to pin point the problem to the RAM. Apparently one of the two had been corrupted some how. Returned it through Amazon, they sent the new set out ASAP and I mailed back the old ones. Wasnt pleased with the initial problem but it was corrected quickly and I am very satisfied with the replacements.

This is a limitation of a 32-bit operating system. In Windows, the Windows memory manager is limited to a 4 GB physical address space. Most of that address space is filled with RAM, but not all of it. Memory-mapped devices (such as your video card) will use some of that physical address space, as will the BIOS ROMs. After all the non-memory devices have had their say, there will be less than 4GB of address space available for RAM below the 4GB physical address boundary. MacOS X Tiger and Leopard are both 64-bit operating systems and will not experience this problem. Neither will 64-bit versions of Windows XP or Vista or Windows 7.
