Great product for transferring old vhs tapes to dvd! Being able to keep a backup copy of the file and dvd is always peace of mind knowing tapes don’t last forever. The original software sent didn’t work with my old dell laptop. Tyler the support department lead is Awesome!!!! He sent me another option that worked for my computer. Very happy with product and support.

The software that came with the device is broken due to the latest Microsoft update. They sent me another software package that did work and promised a license. I noticed yesterday the unit was getting very hot. Today to see if I could clear some of the noise in the video I used my laptop instead of desktop, it got hot there as well.. and now the housing has come apart. I snap it back and it just pops open. Anther issue has developed and that is I am not getting sound now. I believe this may be to the heat of the device and it falling apart. Tech support IS working with me. I will update.

I used this product to digitize an old Betamax tape. I couldnt get the program working on a computer running Windows 8.1, but it did work on my Windows 10 computer. The preview window in the application wouldnt work, but that may be because I was using a Betamax player. Additionally, my computer did not recognize the USB device, and it was only after I clicked around in the program (I had success clicking the audio and video source input toggles) that the light on the device finally lit up and my computer recognized it. Overall, I have looked at several types of this product, and this one is the most reasonably priced and it does its job well, with a few minor issues that dont affect the recording process in any way. Though I cant say how well it does in digitizing VHS tapes, Im sure they record just fine. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone looking to digitize Betamax or VHS tapes.

It was easy to set up and use, the only thing was on the vhs tapes I transfered there was a lag time between the voices and mouth movements, but it may have been the tapes at fault because they were so old.

I have converted about 20 VHS videos so far with very little trouble. I have more VHS and others yet to go! It has stopped occasionally but a simple restart fixes it. It is not a video editor although it has some capability to crop, but for simply getting video from tape to digital, its super simple. I thought about just sending all the tapes to a service for transfer to digital, but I can get more value out of doing it this way, and I can see what I have. Some of the tapes only have a little bit of video, some I dont care about, so I now know what I have and how to put it together. Ill use a different video editing software for that, but the library I now have of all the old stuff is awesome. Using Windows10.

Recently went through 20+ VHS tapes that were boxed 12 years ago when we moved. Many are over 30 years old (weddings, birthdays, daughters events, family events and woodworking videos for equipment I still have). Got a VCR from someone in our city, purchased VHS2DVD and its all history (literally). Put the tape in VCR, hit play, and then hit Record on the VHS2DVD app then sit back and watch the process. Flawless. I created .mpeg file on an external drive and next Ill copy them onto thumb drives and gift the family videos to family members. May burn DVDs if needed. Thanks ClearClick.

Im always leery of products like this when I read such disparate reviews. But I bought it anyway. I have some old movies on VHS that I want to bring over to MP4 and DVD. The install was very easy. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! 0. DONT INSTALL THE USB YET!! 1. Install the driver. DONT REBOOT YET 2. Install the software. REBOOT WHEN DONE. DONT RUN IT YET! 3. Plug in the USB (I had it in a USB 3.0 port) 4. Run the software as administrator (or it wont work right I found out) 5. Do the configuration as shown in the booklet I plugged my VCR into the video/audio connections and fired it up. It worked great! The quality of the video is good considering the VHS I was copying isnt the newest. Audio was great. I have quite a number of VHS tapes Im going to move to electronic format. This seems to be the thing to do the trick. Id certainly recommend it. Hooked up

This is a very good device, it does just what I need it to do. I had no issues with it at all, it works perfectly on my Win 10 laptop. The sound out of sync situation is only happening during the capturing process. Once the video is captured and saved on your computer, the sync issue is not there. Ive converted 10 tapes, burned them all to DVDs and planning to do more. In addition, I saved them all to my external usb storage as a backup. The clarity and crispness isnt exactly the same as the original tapes, but thats understandable. To get the same level of crispness you would need to go to a professional movie-making studio. Im quite happy with the results, it does the job.
