Neil Simon was very astute in his observations when writing this book. The experiences of a nieve young fellows army induction and training in the final months of WWII. I can readily relate to his sudden exposure to the real world and finding it necessary to grow up fast!. This movie is not really for mothers and grandmothers, but fathers and brothers should find it interesting.

Love the work of Neil Simon. Saw this movie on cable a couple years back and remembered it so fondly. It is as sweet as I remembered. Have loaned it to friends and they are now in pursuit of Simons work.

One of Neil Simons absolutely brilliant flicks .. lots of humor .. great cast .. simply AWESOME !!

The movie was in good condition as stated and arrived in a timely manner and was a gift for my mother who specifically requested this movie in a DVD so it was a win win!

This is not a review of the film. I ordered this DVD with standard shipping and it arrived two days later--ahead of schedule! This company processes and ships their orders very quickly. Although I purchased the DVD as used it came in shrink wrap and contained no scratches. It was as if it had never been open or even watched. The quality of the used DVD was like that of a brand new DVD. I highly recommended this companys used products since they must be very well taken care of. The DVD played perfectly in the DVD player. There was not any skipping or pauses (which would indicate scratching). This company processes and ships quickly and their used products arrive as if they were brand new. Wonderful movie, 1930s Brooklyn family struggling to mke ends meet in face of WW II looming Well acted excellent script.

The Weequahic section of Newark N.J. is where I was raised prior to, and after World War Two. This film is about me. A mirror image of my youth during a wonderful time. Neil Simon is the best story teller ever. I never get tired of watching this work
