Not an audiophile, but if you are moving from earbuds like me, its a good upgrade.

Got a great deal on these and they sound amazing. Have been an great replacement for my AKGs that had just seen better days. I wear them for a few hours at a time and on and off all day at work. very comfortable and adjustable to wear over a hat. The extra cables helped out a bunch as well because i stand at my desk all day and work between a white board and a computer so now i dont have to take my headphones off to jump back and forth.

I had the M40x before these, and I loved them. The day the ear cup snapped off was a tragic one. They lasted over a year of consistent daily use. They were great headphones that had an amazing sound quality for the price. These are similar in that regard. They are more expensive, but if you use headphones as much as I do, the extra cost is worth it. They are more comfortable than the m40x, and have better quality sound. I also like how they come with a short cable in the box, unlike the m40x. The sound quality is not that much better, but you can notice a difference. These headphones have better bass than the m40x. Instruments are a bit more defined and clear. These headphones can make your ears a little sweaty after a while, but that is to be expected from over ear headphones. If you don’t use headphones that much and the price increase is that big of a deal to you, the M40x is still a fantastic buy.

Top quiality headphones for a good price, Bought the limited edition blue ones, Best headphones ive owned, Not to sure how they compare to the newer beats, but the old beats pro arent nothing compared to these!!
