> 3 dayIve been searching for a gaming laptop that didnt suck a** in battery for the longest time and now I finally found it. The new Ryzen Chip in this laptop uses very little power so when you want to be portable you can still get six to eight hours of battery life throughout a work day. However, the thermal performance is worrying so I had to disable the turbo boost in the system registry. theres a YouTube video on how to do that and it drops the CPU temperature by 20° C!!

> 3 dayWhile I sometimes play games, I bought this laptop primarily for work. I wanted to use Photoshop and have a lot of programs running at the same time, and wanted a powerful enough computer to handle it because past laptops have frozen up or gotten glitchy graphics doing that.

> 3 dayI did a lot of research on laptops of similar price, hardware and battery life for gaming. I came across this one and was surpised at the battery life and size of the design. This computer puts my old desktop to shame as far as fps while running high or ultra graphics settings. Or can play movies for 10 hours unplugged on battery saver. If you are in the market for a good gaming machine this one doesnt disappoint! Linus does a great review video on youtube for this laptop.

> 3 dayIt’s a decent laptop. But it blue screens constantly. Black screens as well. All require a hard reboot. It’s starting to get on my nerves. I have a 2018 MacBook that I’ve been running in a production environment (VMware, Ai/Ps/InD/Figma/Sketch/VScode/iTerm/Docker/VirtualBox w/ Kali, Pentoo, and Ubuntu) - I’ve had maybe 10-12 crashes since buying it. This ROG Zephyrus G14… crashed at least 12 times in the past 5-7 days. Sometimes I’m not even doing anything, like it’s literally at the screen saver or just playing music, and I get either a blue screen or black screen (where it’s on and running but the screen is completely black). I liked it up until this BS started. I recovered from the recovery partition and it’s now completely unreliable. Blue screened during an RDP session, during an SSH apt update && upgrade of multiple Linux machines, and randomly explorer stops working and no matter what I do double clicking apps won’t launch them. Yay another reboot…
