> 24 hourAbsolutely necessary if youre replacing your CPU cooler or just simply want to replace the thermal paste on your chip. It doesnt need much, so dont put a huge goop on the thing and have it oozing out over the edge. Less is better. I simply put a small line down the center of the chip (not edge to edge, but rather further in). Other folks will just put a couple of small drops on it.
