> 3 dayComing from a 2700x, youll definitely notice improvement in productivity workloads, and 1% lows in gaming will climb significantly. The only knock I have on the 5900x is that on a X470-F with the latest bios updates applied, the processor will not boost a single core past 3.8ghz... even with PBO enabled and thermals looking great. Beside this one minor complaint, this processor shines in daily tasks and gaming, and should be competent for years to come. Heres hoping I can figure out the boost issue...

> 3 dayUpgraded from a Ryzen 7 3700x, and gotta say I see a huge difference in performance when gaming. The Ryzen 7 3700x had slight issues keeping up with gaming, and streaming.

> 3 dayIncredible performance for $384. I couldnt have imagined this even five years ago. It likes to run hot out of the box. Zen three loves to boost as long as there is adequate cooling. Using the curve optimizer, you can lower temps quite a bit and improve boost clocks. (You can disable PBO and temperatures are very mild) I have several cores that will boost over 5ghz. With a 280mm AIO cooler, my temps are around 40 degrees Celsius at idle and low 70s under load. Generally it is around 68 degrees when gaming. You can set a thermal threshold in the bios if you want to cap temps. Cores will throttle in respect to your temperature cap. Even with 5.1ghz boost clocks, the chip only draws around 90 watts when gaming. (Compare that to the 200 plus watts of the 12900k)

> 3 dayThis is super fast, paired with a 3080 gpu and 16×2 gskill 3600 cl14 ram, Asus x570 gaming plus, samsung 980 pro ssd 1 tb, it takes 11 seconds from the time I hit the power button, till I can open my web browser....you wont be disappointed. I use it for gaming, which is overkill, but Im so glad I got it

Greater than one weekI recently built a new pc and replaced everything except for the ryzen 7 3700x processor. I had problems with the 64Gb of new ram that I installed my pc from booting normally. I had to boot twice before the operating system would load. I tried everything I could think of to fix this including upgrading the bios but nothing worked. I then suspected it could be the processor not being able to handle the ram. So I upgraded the processor to the ryzen 9 5900x and this solved the problem. My pc now boots just fine. I can really see the difference in general pc performance as well. All my programs work much faster and basic tasks like backing up my hard drive now go lightening fast. Im very happy with this upgrade and highly recommend this processor.
