12-11-2024My first time going with AMD again for over 14 years as I usually stick with Intel. AMD is way ahead of the game and after reading various independent reviews they recommended AMD over Intel. Very pleased with the CPU. Incredibly fast and for the price it’s brilliant compared to Intel. Easy to install but AMD chips do run hotter so best to invest in a really good airflow cooler or water cooling to get the best from this chip. As you can see in my photo I went with a recommended air cooler from another customer off here and it’s massive!!! I didn’t install the cooler which came with the CPU. The new airflow heatsink does an incredible job in keeping the CPU under 50’C for most of the time. If you are debating whether or not to go with Intel or AMD I would seriously recommend AMD.

> 3 dayI must have had a duff CPU as mine gave up after about 10 months and it didnt even get that much use. It took well over a month to get a replacement which wasnt good as this was for my business PC. Its just as well I had a spare computer or Id have been in trouble due to the amount of time it took to get a replacement sorted out under the warranty!

> 3 dayGreat CPU, beast at processing workloads like video encoding. I would however suggest if youre going purely for gaming, go for Intel as they still have the edge but they burn like the sun.

10-11-2024I bought this product as an upgrade for my gaming PC so I can multitask better and with this CPU I was able to do just that after over clocking, stock was a bit laggy and choppy but with the Ryzen app makes it easy to safely over clock and everything is running great.

Greater than one weekThis is my first AMD processor ever, and its a good one. I had to switch for this build because of how much the gap has closed for gaming, and how good Ryzen has been for multi-core processing. AMDs really been putting the pressure on Intel, and this shows it. This was also the easiest processor Ive overclocked using AMDs Ryzen Master software. You can do it all from within windows and after you apply your settings, you can just exit and it will retain your overclock freeing up even more resources (I think if you were to leave Ryzen Master open, it takes up like 10% processing power or something). If youre considering this processor, just make sure to get a good cooler. Im using an NZXT Kraken x72 and, while gaming, my temps always stay right around 50C - 60C depending on how much the game utilizes the CPU. When benchmarking the highest theyve gotten is 76C. So thats a solid choice for an AIO. I havent used air cooling in years, but most people I see say that Noctua is the way to go. Overall, this is an extremely good processor and I highly recommend going with it if youre on the fence for your next build.

13-11-2024It worked fine at first, but after a few months it started freezing and displaying a matrix of green squares. A reboot got it back working. Montoring the CPU and sytem tempuratures gave a stong indication that it probably was not overheating. The fault was not with the graphics card (that worked fine on another motheboard). The engineer at my local PC mender said that he has, in the past had to send back a Ryzen CPU - he adds that AMD gave no problems and the replacement worked fine.
