I really like this case. It is well made and comes with a netting on one side of the insides so you can store the cord. The other side has an elastic strap to secure the hard drive.

Although I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews on here, I decided to purchase this case anyway and judge for myself. I sure am glad that I did, cause I think it is perfect. My WD passport 1TB portable external hard drive fits in it perfectly, there is ample room for a cable, and I also carry 2-3 flash drives in it too. While I wouldnt necessarily through this thing from my 20th floor window and think that it would protect my portable drive, I am certainly very comfortable throwing it in my pocketbook, briefcase, etc., without worrying that it will get damaged. Unlike other people who have written about drop tests, I have not opted to intentionally throw this case, housing my drive, onto a wood or stone floor to see what will happen. All I can say is that this case has protected my drive beautifully and I have absolutely no complaints. Id recommend it.

Basic case that will protect without any unnecessary bell or whistles. This is the true meaning of Basic while still being good quality.

I didnt buy this to use with an external HDD but instead I use it to store my Gameboy Color and Pocket when I am not using them and it fits perfectly. Its very similar to the Case logic ones but about 20% thinner which for me is nice since I never liked the larger case design of the Case Logic cases.

Perfect for MyPassport drive and I can still carry a RAM stick + NVMe drive on the pocket along with the cable.
