Good computer

This laptop does everything it promises. The battery is surprisingly powerful as is the processor and GPU. Turn on battery saver and it still plays games like Destiny 2 on high settings with capped FPS at 30 for about 2 hours. Plugged in I dont have a game that it wont run at high or ultra above 120 FPS. Fan isnt overly loud and the turbo mode is amazing. I havent needed to use it on games and like I said before, I dont even have a game that needs it. Needs a bit more HDD space but for anyone who can operate a screwdriver, its no problem. Keyboard is sturdy and quiet.

Still breaking in the gaming laptop but very happy with the purchase. The keyboard is a bit lazy on the shift key as I try to sprint. Soft key is the way Id describe it, but this is simply my preference for keys that click....

I love this laptop. This is my second predator. The first one (a GTX 1060 model) had tremendous heat issues and throttling. This has been solved on this new release. This is the new model 2060 RTX but is limited to 90 watts. I suppose a software update in the future will increase to 115 Watts. Either way, it is to my understanding that this would only provide a minimal increase in average frame rate at the expense of battery life. The laptop works beautifully with my oculus quest with various software options for gaming performance. The only issue I have experienced is hardware related (let me explain). When applying the smallest amount of pressure on the left palm-rest (where you plug your gaming headset), communication, (talking, not receiving) is muffled with static. After switching headsets and connecting with my other predator, I determined that there is a loose connection or metal touching metal that causes the problem. I called predator support and they recommended to get a new one delivered by amazon because delays on repairing the problem could take 7-10 days. So I called and viola! A new laptop is arriving today! So again if you get this laptop check first if you can communicate through teamspeak and discord before installing additional programs. I believe this is manufacture issue and hopefully an isolated one. Again this is a great laptop with plenty of options for storage upgrade (2 NVME slots and an SSD slot with non-soldered Ram) which are found on more expensive laptops. Service support through amazon has thus far been excellent. I will provide an update if the issue with communication happens again. An update; the new laptop arrived and it work perfectly with both teamspeak and discord. No other issues to report.

ive loved each and every aspect of this laptop. It fulfills all of the requierments i needed for both buisness and pleasure, i can game, write code and use blender/unreal engine easily. the only problem i have with it is its keyboard, it is simply as mediocre as keyboards get. the layout is ok but the keys are mushy and sometimes hard to type in. otherwise a great purchase!

This Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming computer offers probably the best performance you can get at an entry level price for a gaming laptop. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6 GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM GPU has a lot to do with that.
