StraightUp Reviews
Greater than one weekThis Acer Nitro Gaming Desktop is great computer. It is very easy to get set up right out of the box. I ordered this as a second PC to use for my sons gaming and then for general use - work and school work. It is the perfect intro computer for gaming - has lots of features included. Although, we did add more Ram. All in all this is great desktop - very happy with it - has a lot for the price point.

> 3 dayThis has been my first PC. I use the internet, game and stream on Twitch. I play stuff like Assassins Creed, League of Legends, and I recently started running the new CoD MW on it. I’m getting about 80ish FPS on CoD with the 8gb of RAM stock. Upgrades I’ve got are the RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB F4-4000C18D-16GVK) and it’s super easy to install and now I’m getting 110-120 FPS. The motherboard doesn’t have a bios for me to be able to overclock the RAM, but the motherboard is another change you could do. The 512gb of Memory is decent, but can fill up quick if you have a medium/large game library. If the RAM isn’t a major issue for you, you could upgrade the Memory to 1tb or more. I also bought the Red Dragon Draconic 60% RGB keyboard, Glorious Model O Wireless Gaming Mouse and Logitech G733 wireless headset.

> 3 dayThe i5 6-core processor is good but a little outdated and the GeForce RTX 1650 doesnt compare to a 1080 or an RTX card. It can run most games smoothly but dont expect to be able to max out the graphics without losing significant FPS. I think for the price this is good for the specs listed. It runs fast and would work well as an intro to mid-range gaming computer or excellent as a basic-use computer. I generally prefer gaming computers, even for basic use because the processors can handle bigger/more complex programs and multi-tasking very well. I recommend upgrading the graphics card if you wish to use this for more demanding games that require a lot of FPS.

Greater than one weekAfter having this system for a while, I will go ahead and say an extra 8gb stick with of RAM is required to get full utilization from this system. I also bought an extra m.2 ssd. Gaming- with this system and the upgrades purchased for it, I am able to play games mostly in QHD and get 50-60 fps. I am also able to even play in native 4k (high or medium graphics preset) and get above 30 to 40 fps. Solid gaming experience. Production- as a side hobby I am a music producer, and use FL Studio 20 as my main work environment. Compared to my previous system I am able to have a fast, steady, and smooth workflow with the increased processing power of the 11th Gen Intel CPU in the system. Lastly I upgraded to Win 11, and I can confidently say this system is pretty much capable of anything you throw at it. Can’t forget the upgrade path also, for future upgrades to the CPU, GPU, more RAM etc. Overall- I am happy with the purchase, but I recommend upgrading the RAM and getting more storage.

30-10-2024This computer has been fantastic for my daughter. She wanted to dip her toes into pc gaming, but is young enough that she isn’t going to play anything too graphics intensive. So far it has not disappointed. For a young gamer getting their first gaming pc, this is a perfect balance between cost and hardware. If on the other hand you are getting a gaming pc for an older child or adult that plays more intense games, this isn’t the best option. It’s a solid value on an entry level gaming pc.

> 3 dayNeeded a computer for CAD work that didnt break the bank. Perfect for my needs. Quiet and performance is very good. Did have a couple of instances of Out of Memory occur, so I added an additional 8GB of RAM. Very good and solid product for the money. Dont use it for gaming so cannot comment on gaming performance, but it does run my CAD SW very well.

> 3 dayI have had this for a couple months now and it is wonderful. I have been able to play all the games at want at good graphics and not have to suffer. I am used to suing on low graphics so playing on medium to high is not problem. Very simple with free windows 11 upgrade. Just what I needed for my first my PC.
