The seller description described this as gaming-friendly. Since it is not windows compatible, I cannot download any software onto it. I couldn’t even download my sons school software onto it. Anything you can download is an OS (phone) size and quality. I paid $998 before taxes/fees and the current listing sells for $399, even though I bought this in the last year. The seller would not admit to false advertising nor accept a return. Beware of this seller- you do not get what you pay for.

Build quality is solid. Its not a Mac or a Dell XPS but it also doesnt feel cheap or flimsy. The ability to flip into a large tablet is a great feature. The screen is above average and is full HD. Streaming looks wonderful. The keyboard is nice though I do wish it was backlit. It has a perfect amount of ports (USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, 3.5mm, SD) and charges via USB-C. The trackpad is extra large and works wonderfully. If Chrome OS is sufficient for your needs, this is an excellent laptop and streaming device.

Does not work well. Keeps on saying that chrome os is missing or damaged and i need to do a recovery. Happened many times and i only had it for 5 months in which i dont use too often and always shut down. No good. Gonna try to get refunded

We purchased the Acer Chromebook Spin 314 in Feb 2023 for $345.49 and less than 2 month later, it started to turn off erratically. Each time, a hard turn on (using the side button) was required to turn it back on. Now, 3 months later, it turns off more frequently, and it is harder to turn back on each time. It is insanely annoying, and most certainly not an expected behavior for a Chromebook. I tried to return it (not possible, since I had passed the return date), and tried to contact the reseller eTechtronics to, at the minimum, get the computer serviced, or replaced. After multiple inquiries, and now several weeks, I did not receive any response back. I am truly disappointed with my experience with Amazon and eTechtronics and will most certainly never order computers on Amazon anymore.

This is an excellent product and a great replacement for Windows. This has everything I wanted (touch screen, stylus, fold back design, and more). I only gave it four stars because of one small flaw. It seem that all Chromebooks put the cooling vent intake on the bottom and exhaust out the back, this one does. But they do not leave enough room for the fan (under the unit) to pull in air and it tends to get hot if you do not prop it up a little in the back or get a cooling pad.

Just as a disclaimer, i bought mine on cyber Monday for $699 which is the perfect price. I couldt bring myself to spend the $899 it was initially listed. This Chromebook really checks all the boxes. In my opinion this is the best Chromebook currently available, even better than the Pixelbook though i suppose that is subjective. I say this having thoroughly researched every new Chromebook released this year. If you can stomach the price, or find it on sale, you will not be disappointed.

It is a fair to middling machine that handles most day to day tasks, as expected from something at this price point. Besides some slight compatibility issues, the only real problem I have is the fact that the battery has degraded exponentially since initial purchase. After just 20 charging cycles the most I can get out of it is about 4 hours of light use before searching for an outlet. That is a far cry from the 10+ that was promised. Otherwise, it is a capable device, just not one you can trust to stay charged up and ready to go.
