We needed something to keep the coffeemaker on to protect light-color stone countertops. This is perfect, unobtrusive, and really sturdy. Cleans up in the sink very quickly too. Ordering a second smaller one for the new espresso machine.

I wanted to replace the old clear silicon drying mats that we had been using in our kitchen for a few years. They were never particularly attractive, or that useful, really. They were thin and had a tendency to mold and stain, so I decided it was time for an upgrade. My standard practice is to search for an item, pull it up, then rank the choices by user reviews, an extremely useful Amazon feature to read what real people have to say about the products they purchase without all the marketing hype. And so it was with these mats. I pulled up the search and these were at the top of the list. I read the reviews, and they all said the same thing - best mats ever! So even though they were more expensive, I took the leap and bought one of them with the idea that if my wife did not like it, I would take it down to my bar. Well, that did not happen. When the package arrived, we were both immediately impressed with the sheer quality of the mat. Its actually quite beautiful considering it only sits there and lets your dishes dry! It really classes up any kitchen; we both loved it at first sight. Needless to say, I ended up buying a second one right away for my bar. Ive owned this bar mat for a little over a year - and I couldnt be more pleased. At the time of my purchase I came across several rubber alternatives, some at a third of the price, and wondered if this mat would be worth the higher price tag. Im usually one to pay a bit more for a quality product that will last - and this mat is well worth the investment. Its heavy, durable, and had no odor when it was new. After a year of heavy use, a quick rinse in the sink and it looks as new as the day I got it.

Updated now that I got the right mat. Original review and edit below. Not as described, prongs are not elliptical, these circular ones on the mat I received would be more prone to breaking I imagine. Lays decently flat, edges are pretty straight with a slight waves. Mat weighs just over a pound and a half, not this ultra thick 3lb mat other reviewers have described. All in all a decent mat, but not as described, and not the ultra premium mat I spent a premium on. I will be sending this back, and give amazon a chance to send me the correct mat, I will update my review when I have a resolution. Edit: Amazon sent the correct mat this time, 5 stars. This thing is heavy duty, the definition of overkill. A premium product that I can imagine lasting a lifetime. Nearly twice as thick as the original mat and very heavy.

Great on my bar top, as a dish drainer AND it’s fantastic under my stand mixer to prevent it from “walking” across the counter. I tested it out on bread dough using the second from the highest speed for 10 minutes and observed no movement at all. I’ve tried a lot of other tricks (non-slip mats etc) and nothing has come close to this bar mat performance. Handsome enough I might get another to park it under my mixer permanently. A Bar Above comes through with another excellent product.

As I feared, its possible (although not likely), that your jigger will tilt over when its positioned *just* the right (wrong?) way. The gap between the bumps is wide enough that if the edge of your jigger is almost touching one bump (but not quite), and is therefore overextended past the last bump its resting on, it might tip over when liquid is added to it. To be fair, Im not sure that making them closer together would be wise, since it would be harder to clean. I usually hold my jigger while pouring anyway, but sometimes its nice to pour and leave it sitting, like when prepping some soda water to be ready to pour last. I was tempted to give it 5 stars, however, it has allowed a jigger to tip over once, so keep it in mind.

These are less than 17&1/2 and less than11&1/2inches. Significantly smaller than the listed 30cm x 45cm as well as the listed 18x12inches. Very disappointed in the size as the dimensions were stated in both metric and US imperial and the items are NOT that size or even really very close to that size.

I dont use this as a bar mat, but to protect my kitchen countertops like an oversized industrial grade silicone trivet. Primarily I use it for cutting boards to steady and dampen impacts, keep airflow underneath, instead of the ad-hoc wet towel which can easily warp wood cutting boards. But its also great to keep a grip on mixing bowls, putting down hot lids, utensils, and basically anything that I wouldnt want to put down on my bare countertop. Also way cheaper to replace if damaged. The totally flat back side can be used in a pinch for kneading (a small) bread and other things that need a smooth surface (I wish the logo was in the corner, but understand this is not the intended purpose). This thing is so hefty and grippy that as long as I put it down on a suitable and clean surface, it takes quite some effort to move significantly. When dirty I just scrub lightly with a brush and toss it in the dishwasher--dont have to baby thing thing much and care is minimal. Contemplating getting another few for a larger padded prep area, but need to free up some kitchen space...

Bought this as a precaution in case the coffee pot is misaligned and there is spillage. (Yep, its happened!) Looks great on the counter top and is easy to move and wipe up. (With Prime), delivery was overnight. Arrived in perfect condition.
