Reported to ship with Windows 10. It comes with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. The computer crashed after installing some updates which failed, so I ran a system restore, which also failed. The built-in OS recovery tools all failed. Downloaded the USB OS Support Assist / Recovery tool from Dell official website and it installs W10 Home, not Pro. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell support, Dell claims this is because this is an unofficial 3rd party seller and the description is incorrect. They are unwilling to provide an upgrade back to W10 Pro, which the machine shipped with, because in their support database it is listed as a W10 Home machine. Buyer beware. Like the computer otherwise.

The hardware is among the best available and the build quality is amazing. Thats the nice things. The frustrations have been firmware / driver support. Dell has add on drivers for audio, power management, wireless, etc. Many of their competitors due the same, but I havent been able to use windows default drivers to supplant them and the crash rate for some of them is outstanding. Pair that with bi-monthly firmware updates that I suspect are the cause of many bugs (machine has been failing to resume from sleep off and on for over 3 months) and you basically ruin the pros. Previously I had a 16 GB memory rig that caused me to kill and load VMs constantly. More cores + memory should have been a significant time savings, but instead all of the time saved and then some has been spent with Dell support or trying to troubleshoot machines myself. If the end user is not tech savvy, I would expect these frustrations to be compounded several times over.

The 32 GB RAM allows me to do the jobs I need and work on multiple projects at once. Ive been very happy with this computer and its functions. Its also very stylish for those which this matters. My only negative I would mention is that battery life is only fair. I was hoping it would be better. Overall you cant go wrong with this purchase.

It worked OK to start, but then.... The audio started malfunctioning (I use lots of VOIP for work, so its a big issue), so much so that now it can be completely garbled at times. The wifi stops sometimes, for no reason; just now, I am on the internet with my old HP with no problems -- this computer has already lost and regained connection at least five times. In the middle of - nothing - it will start revving up and overheating. The keyboard / touchpad sometimes do not work too well -- I have not been able to figure out why sometimes I cannot type things into Excel or PPT. I hope I can get some money back returning it. There is really no point holding on to it. I cant count on it working when I need it!

    Greater than one week

Im going to start with what I did NOT like about the laptop, which I bought a month ago in the Microsoft Store. -The first and most important is the keyboard, there are keys that do not work like the others, they do not have the same level of sensitivity. Many times you have to press them hard and right in the center to make them work. There are people who took the trouble to record it and upload it to YouTube. Normally those who bought this notebook have to be correcting what they write. Additionally when you stop using the keyboard for 30> minutes, in my case two B and Space keys. They stop working properly and I have to press them repeatedly and quickly until they work again. I write this after Dell launched the update where they correct a skipping problem with the keys, when the laptop just woke up. The point is that this did not solve my problem with the keyboard. -I do not care about the position of the camera, in fact the fingers look very little when you write. What really matters to me is that the camera has violet and red lines as interference, especially when you do not have a strong light. -Something I did not know existed until I used this notebook. It is known as Coil Wine, it is a noise (electric buzzing). close to the E - R - T keys. Many people have asked me why this laptop has that noise? What if it is not damaged? I plan to send it to support, but they tell me its about 20 days. The good -The battery life is excellent, lets say it lasts about 4 hours, in my case Im a developer and there are programs that are a bit heavy and I never use it in energy saving mode. If you choose an intermediate configuration of energy it will last much longer than 4 hours. -The quality of the materials is very good, the best is the 4k display. and also has much more brightness than other laptops. -The tactile is good too. -I like the sound, they improved it with an update. -The mouse is great, at the level of the macbooks.

This is an excellent laptop. In this configuration, the computer is very fast. The Processor breezes through the most demanding applications, the large amount of RAM is ideal for ever more intensive applications, the GPU can handle the latest games on high settings and will give future proofing for the coming years. The SSD gives a hard drive which is fast and efficient. The star of the show is the 4k touchscreen! This screen is amazing; beautifully bright with a rich and vibrant color display. Comparing my screen to an older laptop is like night and day; no washed out colors on this laptop. I am seeing new colors in websites and applications which I have never seen on my old laptop. The touch screen is also responsive. This computer is the perfect configuration for someone who wants a computer that can do everything good. It can do the basic like browsing and office work, it can do photo and video editing, it can play the latest PC games on decent settings. If you are a professional who needs a good computer to do work, but dont want the teenager-esqe Alienware for gaming, this is the computer for you. This is by far the best laptop I have ever purchased.

UNA VEZ QUE SE RECALENTÓ YA NO SE LA PODÍA USAR. TUVE QUE ESPERAR MUCHO TIEMPO HASTA PODER VOLVER A USARLA. DESPUÉS INVESTIGUÉ EN INTERNET QUE ESE MODELO TIENE PROBLEMAS TÉRMICOS DESDE 2015 Y QUE LAS NUEVAS VERSIONES DEL MODELO NO HAN RESUELTO ESOS PROBLEMAS DE CALOR. POR ESO ME DÍ CUENTA QUE SI LA GUARDABA MIS PROBLEMAS SERÍAN MAYORES. TODO EL RESTO ESTABA OK, MUY LINDA, ETC. PERO LA FALLA ERA FATAL.
