Zilla Heat & UVB Basking Fixture Small

This is a great lamp for smaller terrariums to reduce the number of cables needed for heat + uv. I had to fashion some silicon covers though to keep it from melting the plastic it was sitting on (small exo-terra enclosure doesnt have clearance for this to sit on only the screen portion)

I use it for my bearded dragon, he seems to enjoy it, hasnt left that spot all day so if hes happy Im happy. it doesnt get as hot as using a separate heating fixture but for its small size it still does a good job. I use it with my heating pad under the tank so it keeps the cage a good temperature. It doesnt come with the bulbs so youll have to buy them separate but fast shipping got everything at once and looks a lot better than a bunch of random fixtures above my enclosure. Would recommend.

I like how easy it sits on top of an enclosure, Its suitable for young reptiles in a small space. I returned this product because it does not produce enough heat or UV source for a full grown reptile and their much needed large enclosure. Youll probably only get 3 months use out of this, but I immediately returned it without testing out how long.

not so good for a red eared-slider turtle, ok for lizards

I like the form of being able to combine both lamps into a single compact fixture, but the 25 W Heat bulb only heats my 10 gallon terrarium to about 80 degrees 3-4 inches below the lamp. The 50W bulb only gave an additional 2-3 degrees. Its just barely enough.

No way to safely pick it up or move it when its on or just turned off

Coil light should Not be used for Sulcata tortoise unless used in an enclosure wear there is quite a bit of distance from the to light the tortoise or light is on a maximum 4 hour timer. It seems to burn the little guys eyes. Otherwise this is a great product. I love being able to use the halogen light tho they seem to burn out rather fast if you move it around while the light is being used or if you touch it with bare hands.

I have owned this product for over half year and I am very happy with it. I am not sure how the other reviewers are not getting enough heat from these because I tested using a generic thermometer as well as an infrared digital thermometer and at 8 inches away, the temp was in the 83 to 86 range. At 5 or 6 inches away, I was getting over 95-100 and even higher in some areas. The bulbs I bought are straight from Amazon and are in the recommended items area for this product. This lamp is used for a painted turtle who is very healthy thanks to this product. When I upgrade my tank from the current 20g then yes, I will likely need to upgrade from this product. However, my turtle species is estimated to grow up to 4.5 or 5 inches max, so this may suffice.
