> 24 hourWe used these to replace the red night lamps for our bearded dragon. While they use the same amount of electricity, they last longer both because they are more robust and they are not turned on and off daily. Instead, they are on 24/7. Our lizards behavior changed: before, he would stay awake for an hour or more after the night lights came on; now, he goes right to sleep. Also, since we were not switching 200 watts twice a day we could use a simpler (and cheaper) timer for the UVB bulb. The only difficulty we have had with these is confirming that they are on. (Touching the shield was a problem because it was so easy to burn your hand.) When we traveled with our lizard we once found that they were off -- not because the switches were off, but because the plug had been bumped. So we found a solution: The HOT Color Changing Vinyl, Red to Yellow (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HVZL8GV) changes color at 105 degrees Fahrenheit. We stuck a small piece on each of the light shields and its easy to notice that they are still yellow. As 3 12x12 sheets is a lot to buy to get less than a square inch, perhaps the seller will read this, raise the price by a dime, and include a small piece with each heater.

> 24 hourI think it works well. I just bought the wrong wattage. It would probably be good in a ten gallon glass terrarium, (always monitor temp to be sure) However my tortoise house is a lot bigger, the light holder area is farther up and it’s made of cedar so the heat dissipates. I’m not able to even maintain above 80 degrees with this lamp in the large and open enclosure. I am going to get the 150 watt and see if that gives my little tortoise a better temp in his house. The digital thermometer included with this purchase works well.

> 24 hourI bought these two items for my aquatic turtle aquarium. I have the temperature control placed where it is easily readable when approaching the tank without bothering Tommy Boy if he happens to be sun bathing at the time. I have the ceramic lamp positioned right next to the day lamps and they are on a timer so I don’t have to reach over the tank to turn them on and off. This is my first aquatic turtle and I’m learning what makes him happy and keeps him healthy. I thought these items were reasonable priced. Update: Heat lamp still works great-no problem there. However, the digital thermometer that came with it stopped functioning correctly after only 5 months. It shows the water temp as continuously rising even though the water temp is steady at 75 degrees, as verified by two other thermometers. Not a deal breaker, just be aware that it is a good idea to have more than one thermometer to monitor the tank water.
