Only buy this hard drive if you want to replace everything on it every few months or so. I just downloaded a game update, and everything downloaded and installed correctly. Once I launched the game, the PS5 crashed, and upon restart, the PS5 informed me that the internal 2TB m.2 hard drive can not be repaired and must be reformated. The drive worked fine up until this point, but what difference does that make? If the drive just randomly breaks under normal usage, its completely unreliable in my opinion. I sure as hell wouldnt trust any critical data to this drive, and will definitely remember to avoid Western Digital in the future. In the meantime, Im out $300 AND a hard drive.

When my package arrived, I noticed the product box was damaged. I then opened it, and discovered that the SSD was missing.

Working as intended

Bit the bullet and went for a 2TB upgrade for the PS5. Super easy to install and no problems! Only negative is the price is steep.

This is an order of magnitude slower than Samsung 970 EVO SSD. Its speed is comparable to U3 C10 memory card.

The first 2 SSDs I had failed in weeks. Then I bought this one. No problems at all. This is the SSD that you want wether you game or not. Its a winner!

November gekauft, Januar eingebaut als Systemplatte. X670e mit Ryzen7950x, Custom Wakü für CPU und Graka. Alles super, aber PC stürzte ab und zu lang unvermittelt ohne Bluescreen ab (Win 11).
