Fast, reliable and simple to install. Works great with PS5, just add a heatsink and then you are good to go. Plenty fast enough for the PS5, added 1TB of storage but because the OS is not installed onto this you get most of the space to use for games so can install plenty on here.

Superb performance when paired with a heatsink. Gets a little hot but operates within temperate guidelines WD has set therefore no issues when under heavy load.

TL/DR: If you do not have a Windows PC with an extra M.2 nvme slot, you cannot update the firmware unless you use Windows to Go or clone Win OS onto this SSD. External enclosures do not allow it either. There is no way to know if you even need a firmware update without this. But according to WD forums etc, yes you do need to update the firmware and according to below conversation, they all ship with factory default firmware not the latest...This will not run at 7k in a second M.2 slot either on any mobo.

Gaming

This worked great as an added hard drive to the PS5.

I am using it for a month and it is fast and not so hot (about 55 C). Very happy to purchase it.

Bought a heat sink separately, stuck it in the PS5 and now I have all my favourite games ready to go.

Bra hastighet och inga problem hittills. Haft i ca 6 månader och som systemdisk.

For nvme4 this is the best choice for gaming.
