TruAire 12 in. x 24 in. Heavy Duty Floor Return Air Grille

Product replaced my old vent cover. It was easy to install and looks very good.

I needed some ventilation through the floor so I needed a vent that could be walked on without fear of bending or breaking. This grate is plenty solid to mount on floor, fairly attractive too. Note, I cut my own hole for mounting this grate. Grate edges rest on 5/8 flooring almost exclusively. there is one joist that runs through the middle and needed a groove cut in it to allow the grate to fit flush with floor, but one circular saw blade width was enough.

Needed to vent wood stove room below to bedroom above. This works great. This fit over my rough opening perfectly. Solid, sturdy and clean.

The guy who built my house used a wall vent cover for my floor vent. My daughter and niece would constantly jump up and down on it, and my 90lb nephew stood on it and bent it. So dangerous! Replaced it with this and it’s nice and sturdy. Also the color kind of blends in to the floor because it’s not stark white, so it’s not a major attraction anymore for the kids.
