I was skeptical, but after struggling with my OC 13700K temps despite custom loop I decided to give this a try. No change in ambient, test, or overclock with a 12 degree delta. 12 degrees for a ten minute installation is massive. Cinebench caps at 88 now when I was hitting 100 and throttling previously. 5.7ghz all core and happy.

Was skeptical at first even after watching all the videos online about this but it really worked, dropped my temps by about 5-7 degrees on both my 12th and 13th Gen CPU’s. Recommending this to all my friends!

decided to rebuild my computer using a i7-12700k and from what i read and what all my builder friends told me, having this retainer is a must for the long term, as it helps mitigate temperature spikes and evens out the CPU to Cooler contact, allowing for an even heat distribution. Now, I’m not super computer savvy and I’ve only built 3 computers in my lifetime, but if I can install this easily, than anyone can.

Luckily I stumbled upon a video from Gamers Nexus highlighting these. Bought one because why not. Easy to install and it feels like my cooler is more secure than ever. I am running a z790 board with an Intel 13700k. My temps havent even needed to kick the fans on full blast yet.

This product didnt reduce the temps too much, maybe 5C at full load. However, I got this product for the longevity of the CPU health. This way I can guarantee CPU bend doesnt happen over time.

If you have a 12th or 13th gen processor, this is a must have. I installed this frame on two different computers and it dropped temps by at least 8 degrees on each. Install is super easy if you follow the steps in the Gamers Nexus youtube video.

This thing is so simple to install . Not expensive, but works like a charm.

I tried this modification because I didnt like how much torque was being applied to my CPU when using the stock fastener. I am not sure if it was actually bending the chip but it was under too much pressure in my opinion. Temps improved slightly. Easy to remove original and install and looks cleaner than original silver clamp. Comes with tool to remove and reinstall screws.

Look I realize Thermal Grizzly basically thought of these as a solution for the 1700 socket bend but they’re super expensive and hard to find in the States. And yes, there are even some builders that believe these contact frames are just a trend and are nothing more than a security blanket for a nonissue. And in same cases that’s absolutely true. Some CPUs IHS are perfectly fine with the socket bend I had 4 that were completely fine with or without the contact frame. But after 15 builds with extreme socket bend making for poor contact with heatsinks I can say this helps more often than not. This contact frame has lowered temps by upwards of 8C on my builds and yes I tested each one. So yes, in my professional opinion Intel created a problem, never addressed it and these are the best solution, especially for anything Core i7 and up. The fact that Thermal Right created these at such a reasonable price and are indeed just as effective as Thermal Grizzly’s (check Gamers Nexus) seems too good to be true, but as I’ve said I’ve used these on 15 builds and they’re worth every penny.
