I am not sure what was used on my MSI laptop when it was shipped, but I used this and it seems about the same. I am at 48 degrees C on regular use. Which is pretty typical. It also comes with a cute little spatula for spreading your delicious thermal compound!

I used Artic Silver and its successors from 2000 until I switched out to Arctic MX-4 for daily use . I made that switch because AS5 couldnt handle the GTX580s. After the stock TIM failed on my 4 580s in 2 years of usage I repasted with AS5 and within weeks my temps would creep up again. So I researched, gave MX-4 the nod and all was good until my Alienware 17r4 with a GTX1080 and the intel i7-7820HK, Due in no small part to the iffy and well documented tension system the stock thermal compound just wasnt sufficient, let alone acceptable out of the box. SO I used a fresh tube of the MX-4 and about a year after, I started seeing microstuttering, sidebanding lag, and thermal problems in general worsen from initial onset over a month. That Kyronaut had had some time on the market since I bought this laptop I decided to order it up and utry it out. The temps I am seeing are easily superior to MX-4 new and settled in. Provided this stuff holds up over time it will be my defacto paste. The performance is great and the applicability is not particularly problematic. Good for any one with gumption and hands to build their own or willing to repaste a laptop/PS/GPU.

This paste works well which is why Im giving 5 stars. Its relatively easy to spread if you leave it in your pocket until its needed (definitely warm it up first). Great temps. My only complaint would be the value of price paid and amount received. I had enough for a single LGA 1700 (12700k) CPU. there was a smidge left in the syringe but nowhere near enough to paste another CPU. I almost want to deduct a star for it but it works so well that I dont feel like that would be right. NT-H2 gives equivalent value, performance and is my staple thermal interface but, if the price was right or if I needed it next day in a pinch, Id certainly buy Kryonaut again.

So I dont like to leave bad reviews but after pasting my components the paste made no difference. I thought maybe I applied the paste incorrectly. I did it again but instead used Arctic Mx4 paste. My laptop runs much cooler. Buyers beware!!! I know this has a great reputation but Arctic seems more consistent.

This is the best (most conductive) non-metal thermal compound available right now and it lives up to its name. I used this on my brand new 7700HQ Razer Blade because it was running hot out of the box, come to find out that the factory paste was very poorly applied. After cleaning the CPU, GPU, and other thermally pasted or padded components and repasting with the Kryonaut stuff as well as replacing all thermal pads with Fujipoly Extreme thermal pads, idle CPU temperatures dropped roughly 10-13 degrees Celsius.

I thought I’d be able to just install my x3d on an x470 without updating bios. Nope! So had to reinstall my 3600 then back to x3d. I used the proper amount and literally ran out on the reinstall of the x3d. Just enough to where I don’t feel worried about redoing it… 3 small dots is all it does. Make sure you don’t do what I did…

Worked great easy to apply. It worked slightly better for me than artic silver 5 i had laying around. Dont expect miracles, i got a couple of degrees, but is wroth it to me. I have a 1080 ti, and want it as cool as possible. I also ended up buying the hybrid kit evga, and at load was at 33c after the change (witcher); i don t overclock. Coming from air i was at mid 60s with the fans at 90. It is really nice to have a cool quiet pc.
