Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut The High Performance Thermal Paste for Cooling All Processors, Graphics Cards and Heat Sinks in Computers and Consoles (1 Gram)

Bought the HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13.3 laptop with the Intel 8th gen i7-8550U processor back in November 2017. Using SpeedFan 4.52 to monitor the system temperatures and fan speeds. It runs hot even when doing simple things like Google maps and web search. Not unusual to have CPU temps in the 55C to 65C range and higher for CPU intensive apps. Was getting thermal throttling on regular basis. CPU idle temps were 37C-39C. This is in a house with rooms temperatures around 75F. Since I was going to open the laptop up to increase the storage (went with Intel 760p 1TB - great product), figured Id also redo the thermal paste on the CPU. After looking at lots of reviews, settled on the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. It was a bit of a hassle taken the HP apart; however, the end result has been worth the effort. The Kronaut has dropped CPU idle temps to 26C-29C, apps now run at 40C-48C, and CPU intensive apps no longer suffer thermal throttling. Another bonus is the fans run less often making for a quieter experience.

A very good compound. One of the best on the market. I have used it for a few years now, it never failed. I never tested the temperatures myself, but It is well reviewed by professionals and probably be only bettered by liquid metal. It made the laptops, that I applied it to, quieter.

Noticeable different to standard paste in temps..no brainer

Had a problem where two ps4s, a ps4 pro and a standard ps4 were getting hit and loud when playing certain games. I used this to replace the thermal paste and now each system is running optimal again. Had no issues over the past few months of replacing the thermal paste.

Temperatures are really cool now as we speak.

Inside the packaging were two nozzles/heads to be screwed onto the syringe. According to the instructions, theyre supposed to allow you to spread a thin, even layer of compound onto the die. Except the heads dont fit on the syringe. The internal diameter of the nozzles is less than the outer diameter of the syringe nozzle, so theyre useless. Im probably more annoyed than I should be, it just feels wasteful.

product does what it is supposed to do.

I did a benchmark vs the mx4. This one got 5 degrees celsius more out of my laptop. It is up to you if the additional 5 degrees are worth the extra money. For me, it does.

Viscous, very easy to apply, easy to clean. Outstanding performance, highly recommended.
