I should have purchased this calculator first, but I thought I could buy one of the cheaper ones available. This TI is made to the high quality. I’ve always come to expect from Texas instruments. The cheaper calculator I had purchased prior was difficult to read. The decimal point looked like a comma and the comma look like a decimal point. It was often difficult to figure out what the number was. I am very happy with the functions available on this calculator and the two lines read out. I would buy it again it’s worth a few dollars more.

Its a great calculator, here is what i can and cant do as an tech student. Cheap, just 20 bucks. And if id had it before, life wouldve been way much easier, soon i wont need it anyway, since ill be doing signal processing. CAN DO: -Operate determinant, inverse , transpose, Identity matrix., operate in a straight line all your matrices. -Circuit Solve of three variables, you can simplify the circuit and solve the corresponding equations faster than a setup in matlab. -Vector operations, Constants! a ton of constants that you will need... Ke for example for electrical fields. -Not a cheat calculator but you can store results AND operations in the many variables it has (x,y,z,a,b,c and i think it has d too) -Statistical regression and stuff i didnt bother to read since i wont use. - Operate definite integrals with base x, just change whatever variable you have in terms of X. -It has all the inverse and hyperbolic trigonometrics functions which is just wonderful... CANT DO - Operate indefinite integrals, this is super important since many times youll be solving triple or double integrals and find yourself in a messy chore solving the indefinite and then the definite. - Cant operate variables in matrices, extremely tricky matrices may include variables, so you might want to input them just to know they cant be operated. - Cant operate transforms. This one ... i think they chose it to be this way because this calculator feels more than capable of doing this, just as the definite integral yet still its impossible, it doesnt even have a menu for that. THIS CALCULATOR WILL BE USEFUL FOR: BASIC CIRCUITRY INCLUDING AC, since it can change to polar and fasor. Linear Algebra Vector Mathematiccs Definite integral calculus Definite Differential Calculus Normal Algebra , just normal stuff... WONT BE USEFUL FOR: Indefinite integral and differential calculus. Multivariable Calculus Anything related to transforms , anything at all.

Ordered this for my other half. Said that her previous one lasted over 4 years. No problem and seems well made.

This calculator is my favorite Ive ever used. I dont have to worry about being allowed to use it on state testing without compromising functionality!

Best calc to use for FE if you are accustomed to TI brand calcs. I like it a lot, great value.

I own a TI-Nspire CX graphing calculator, but was looking for something a tad more simplistic for my physics 2 course. This calculator has been amazing for me. I am able to compute the different formulas for my class. The buttons are larger compared to my other calculator and I don’t have to worry about finding a cord to charge it. Overall, this TI-36X Pro is a very good calculator.

I’m taking a business math class that requires me to do a huge volume of simple calculations for which my TI-92 graphing calculator (that has served me well for 20 years) is simply overkill. Of course it is capable of doing everything I need, but it’s huge and cumbersome to use for basic math. With a compact size and amazing price, TI-36X Pro is perfect for real-world (non-scientific) math. For anyone with experience using TI graphing calculators, this is the perfect choice thanks to the EOS™ (Equation Operating System), MathPrint™ display, and curated subset of functions and features found on the graphing models. First, MathPrint displays math on the screen just humans write it on paper. On TI-89 and TI-92 graphing calculators, this is called Pretty Print (this may be different on newer models). For example, with MathPrint enabled, the calculator will display 3². If disabled, it would display 3^2 (like a “business” or “scientific” calculator would). This is a simple example—MathPrint can display roots, stacked fractions, and more complex symbols and formatting. EOS is to TI calculators as iOS is to iPhones and iPads. It’s the basic software that makes TI calculators behave consistently and predictably. Notably, this means (when MathPrint is enabled), TI-36X Pro evaluates expressions left-to-right using the EOS order of operations (parentheses, functions such as log(), fractions, exponents and roots, negation, permutations and combinations, multiplication then division, addition then subtraction, and conversions). As with other EOS calculators, it understands implied multiplication (i.e., 2(3) will be interpreted as 2×3) and uses a dedicated negation symbol, entered with the () key. This makes it easy to tell the difference between a minus operator and a negation symbol on the screen as in “2 – 3”. While it doesn’t display graphs, the TI-36X Pro supports variable storage (x, y, z, t, a, b, c, d), hex/bin/oct entry and conversion, easy fraction – decimal (and mixed number) conversion, LCM/GCD, data tables, random dec/int generation, function table, operation storage and one-touch recall, unit conversions, equation solving (i.e. 8 = 2x, solve for x), polynomial solver, system solver (2x2 linear equations, 3x3 linear system), and plenty more.

As a college student who does high-level math, I can tell you that this is the only calculator you need. Why pay 120$ for a graphing calculator when there are countless websites that will do the exact same this for free (i.e. desmos.com) with half the fuss associated with operating a TI-Inspire? This calculator is FAST and EASY TO USE. It is extremely well-designed so that the buttons you need for squaring and taking square roots are really well-placed and the history of previous calculations is very easy to access (similar to a TI-inspire), making using this calculator a BREEZE. Its solar-powered and super durable--Ive had it for 5 years and its never failed me. I dont think Ive ever gotten more worth out of anything than I have this calculator; it had made math easier and more fluid, which is an outstanding feat! Ive never written an amazon review before but I was using this calculator for some homework just now and was overcome by a wave of gratitude about how nice this calculator is and felt compelled to write a review. Please dont buy a TI-inspire.

I had an old TI-30X that I was using for a while. I recently picked up the TI-36x and its functions have been a gamechanger for my engineering classes.

Advanced, four-line scientific calculator, with higher-level math and science functionality, that is ideal for computer science and engineering courses in which graphing technology may not be permitted.

Amazon.com

Ideal for students at every level, from junior high school algebra to college calculus, the Texas Instruments TI36 packs a lot of punch in a small, inexpensive unit. This solar-powered calculator combines features for statistical analysis, Boolean logic operations, and unit conversions in one sleek package.

Math students will appreciate TI36X"s ability to perform fractional equations and calculate angle units (radians, grads, degrees) when performing trigonometric functions. Everyone will find the calculator"s English/metric conversions helpful.

The TI36Xs single-line LCD is a little difficult to read when the unit is lying on a desk, and users in need of graphing functions will have to look elsewhere. Overall, however, for a calculator in this price range, the TI36X provides enough power for most high-level math and science needs.
