I just got started using my SainSmart desktop CNC but needed an Upcut End Mill for an aluminum project. These end mills have done a great job chipping away at my project. The construction of the desktop CNC is a bit lacking so I can only cut 0.005 in depth per pass. Ive run one of these end mills for 100hrs or so will no real change in cut quality. I did break one end mill when a part came lose during a cut but that was my own fault setting up my material improperly.

FWIW, I used it in my CNC mill (sticking out 1 from the collet) with the following feeds/speeds and it cut perfectly: 3000 RPM 10.4 in/min feed .036 depth of cut .050 step over Climb cut

Im pretty happy with these cutters. They held up well on softer alloys with lubrication, and were able to get through hardened alloys with some finessing of the toolpath. Overall, they got jobs done and I ended up with a nice finish. Pretty good for the money, especially since Im an occasional user and dont need to invest heavily in my hobby tools.

These bits work great on desktop CNC machines for milling aluminum. For the price, you get 5 bits which is nice. The only downside about these bits is that they are uncoated, so they do wear out relatively quick when compared to a coated bit. But other than that, I have no other complaints. I was able to get very smooth finishes from facing, after a finishing pаss of 0.002”.

I’ve been hogging out aluminum on my Sainsmart Genmitsu 3020 for months now and I’ve never broken a single endmill. Solid product.

Cut 1/8 6061 sheet with them. Cut nice and have lasted well.
