> 3 dayI needed a soft rubber brayer for a project and no stores in town had them in stock. Having looked about online, for this pricepoint Speedball was the brand people were recommending. Ive only used it once so far and have been impressed with how smoothly it rolls and how sturdy it feels.

> 3 dayIll start by saying I wanted to like this brayer. Its a good value and doesnt feel cheep. That said, it simply didnt perform. The main issue I had was the center of the brayer simply doesnt take ink. Id repeatedly roll the brayer over a perfectly flat sheet of glass with ink, and the you could visibly see only the sides of the brayer picked up any pigment. The center was noticeably bare. You cant get enough pressure to the center of the roller for it to be effective. Only the sides of this brayer make any real contact with the surface youre rolling it on. This simply isnt a good brayer for inking. For that Id likely need a hard rubber brayer such as the Speedball Deluxe 4-Inch Hard Rubber Brayer but amazon doesnt seem to currently offer a 6 inch version.

> 3 dayI like this brayer a lot, its very useful with smaller gel plates. I do have an issue with the manufacturing of the brayer I received. The metal frame that holds the rubber in place is pushed in too far on one side. This causes paint/ink to build up quickly on that particular side where the rubber meets the metal frame. This also makes it more difficult to clean the brayer on that side. I didnt notice this until I used the brayer a few times and figured its not that big of a deal to put up with.
