SENNHEISER HD 599 Open Back Headphone, Ivory

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD438s, but I hadnt used them much in the recent years. I was more into TWS earbuds and then transitioned to wired IEMs. I recently dug out my old Sennies for a change and really appreciated the forgotten comfort and sound signature. So, I decided to research todays headphones. The HD 599 SE was in the right price bracket (Ive spent way too much already, according to my wife!!) and the reviews gave it high marks for soundstage, comfort, sound signature and open-back bass. I knew Sennheiser was durable. My HD438s are still in excellent condition after 11 or 12 years. The SE traditional coloring is much better suited to my taste than the HD 599.

Je donne 4 etoiles. Parce que mes seinheiser momentum première génération sonne meilleure. Mais ceux ci sont confortables sur les oreilles. Pas confortable pour porter dans le cou par contre. Je peux pas dire que je recommande vu le prix.

This is my 3rd pair of Sennheiser over-the-ear headphones (first 2 were different models) and are the most comfortable headphones Ive ever worn. Yes, I wear glasses and often sit at my computer 4-6 hours watching movies and listening to music. They sound great, as always from Sennheiser, but this model is just a little Too Bassy for my liking, others may find the Bass just right. The other 2 models I had lasted between 6-8 years, one got stepped on, my fault. -- They look Good, Sound Good, and are Very Comfortable -- You cant go wrong for the price.

They must do their job, my son cannot hear me when I yell.

I use these in the studio and they sound pretty clear, which is what I wanted. If you want super punchy headphones for just listening to pop music these may not be your thing.

Was shipped in a cardboard case, not even the 599 box. Just a cardboard case. That being said the product is not damaged

These headsets are little heavier on the base side vs reference headphones, it isnt THE most optimal if you like listening to classical. But for everything else, the sound is above and beyond anything near this price point. If you are considering it just buy it. you will not regret it.
