My favorite sketch books. They take watercolor and allow some lifting of the paint, unlike many other similar paper-quality sketchbooks. Must have some sizing on the paper. Love love these!!

I originally came across these sketchbooks at an art supplies shop in London and fell in love with them. I was really glad to find Amazon stocks them. The paper is nice and thick, although it does buckle a bit when you use wet media like watercolor. I prefer these in comparison to other sketchbooks that look similar, the paper quality for this is much nicer than many others, and I prefer the textured cloth feel of the cover rather than the bumpy, scaly texture of other sketchbooks.

I love the size, larger than you can usually find for square sketchbooks. The paper is a nice weight and takes multiple media well - I havent experienced any bleeding yet with ink/marker work, and its great for colored pencil. The cover is thick and durable, making it easy to draw on any surface, and stays open well enough.

I am an artist and a sketchbook lover! I saw this used by Felix Schienberger and wanted to give it a try. It is heavy enough that when I draw with a Pitt pen, it does even show through on the other side of the paper. I also have used watercolors washes, not too wet and the paper barely buckles. The cover is surprisingly nice with a linen like feel. The pages lie pretty flat as I have had some sketchbooks that are hard to keep open. I am pretty impressed with this little book and the price is really good. I bought the 8x 8 and the small landscape. I really like the 8 size and feel it is small enough to easily pop in a bag or not be too big on your lap but large enough to have room to work.

I wouldnt know about this sketchbook except that I took an online class and this is the one that was recommended. I have a big tote bag and I keep it with me at all times..I got a convenient size. There is a ton of pages in it..it will take a long time to fill. It accepts water media nicely. I wasnt crazy about how it accepted color marker (but this may have to do with my own lack of skill, not sure). One really cool thing I discovered is that if you hate the result on a page, if you rip out the page with vigor and gusto it comes completely out cleanly. Thats a true bonus, most of the time when you do that it shows that you ripped out a page. I think it just goes to how well made it is.

I am a professional artist and have discovered Seawhite hardback sketchbooks 2-3 months ago. By now I have almost filled the second 8x8 black cloth sketchbook (drawings with graphite and ink) -- paper is sturdy, no ink bleeding. I admit that I am already addicted to Seawhite of Brighton quality!!! I only wish if they had my square sketchbook sizes always in stock (8x8 and 12x12) as only their prices are affordable.

The paper is great and theres a lot of it. Im used to the Moleskine 8x5 sketchbook. I find the square size cumbersome but thats my issue. The only thing I found missing was an elastic strap to keep it closed.

I decided to buy this sketchbook to draw all the stuff that I bought each day. I figure this will stop me buying stuff that I dont need (we will see if that work. This sketchbook has a lot of pages, thickest of all sketchbook that I have bought so far and cheaper than most. I think this sketchbook is meant for dry media, but a little bit of watercolor is fine too. I can use both sides of the page to draw and write without a problem.

I dont understand why the image shows 3 sketcbooks and blue ones when the sketchbook is black. The quality of the paper is good but theres no reason to have an image that doesnt match up. Artists are very particular about their sketchbooks so, it seems odd that a seller would misrepresent. And this brand has more than one product like this with the wrong pictures.
