Total drive failure in 5 months. LOSS of thousands of dollars in labor/data. No warning of impending issue, just instantly gone. A week of work lost since it has been off network for a bit. My similar Samsung drive is almost five years old in the same computer.

I love this drive its quiet and very fast. I have the one of the original first generation of these drives which were the Barracuda Pro drives and used it for 3 years as a media and gaming drive. Both drives are 8TB and perform amazing. The Firecuda version is slightly faster overall and I wouldnt dream of putting my library on anything else. I am absolutely 100% recommending these drives. I wish they were about 40.00 cheaper, however performance per dollar is still spot on.

Acheté pour augmenté la mémoire de mon mini pc, ce fut une petite galère pour le brancher sur ladaptateur de boîtier SSD Zoravson car ça ne rentrait pas dans lencoche de celui-ci, mais après quelques bricoles jai réussi. Ce ssd est super, avec une bonne mémoire et une bonne vitesse de lecture et décriture, quelques secondes seulement pour un transfert de 50go, il marche très correctement sans surchauffe, je nentends quasiment plus mon mini pc chauffer, impeccable.

So I bought this with an Asus x570i Strix to take advantage of the Gen4 m.2 speeds. For whatever reason, the Gen3 m.2 I have in the other slot is faster than this. Ive configured the motherboard properly. Its detected as the correct speeds yet it underperforms.

It is really fast. Great price for the size and speed.
