Savic Sputnik Small Animal House

My rats love this thing. They were nervous about it at first, but now they sleep in there on warm nights.

So easy to assemble and set up. It took the rats a few days to start using it as a regular sleeping place but I think theyre about it now. I love having things I can hang instead of put on the floor because it helps me keep the cage cleaner. My only thing is if I did decide I want to put it on the floor instead of hanging thered be nothing to attach it to since I have the plastic pan on the bottom and not bars... it doesnt meant I couldnt do it but the rats would probably move it around a lot Im guessing.

Definitely a nice bang for your buck, my rat absolutely loves this thing either on the ground or up high. My reasoning for a 4/5 star rating is the color. When I initially purchased this I didnt see anything advertising random colors, just the black/grey. I was mildly annoyed to receive a pink and purple version. This would have been totally fine provided it was advertised as random colors. Overall I really like the igloo and so does my rat, I just think advertising it as random colors would be more appropriate.

Both the girls nested in the smaller one I had when they were young. They became like a couple trying to get some covers at night. I had to buy the big one. Its the only thing Misti & Squeeks dont try to modify! Great value for the money.

The sputnik is a must have in my rat cage. Every time I come and check on them at least one rat is in the sputnik sleeping :) They do love peeing in it for some reason.. but it is super easy to clean so I dont mind! I highly recommend this product.

My only note would be that the size I bought is best suited for just one rat, though both will squeeze in there sometimes. More commonly, though, its just one of the two guys hanging in there. I cut the elastic off an old pair of boxer briefs and then reassembled the thing through the legs/waist to make a convenient soft bottom they cant remove.

5 stars for an item Ive always loved and like to think of it as a staple for rat lovers. 4 stars for giving a color I wasnt after 3 stars for giving the choice to select a color you want but still give a random color
