> 24 hourThe drive failed within less then a year of purchase. I understand hardware can fail. My issue comes with the lack of customer service on this. I first had to mail the drive to Samsung. I then waited for almost a week with no updates available as the website tracker doesnt update so I called again. The rep told me a replacement drive had been ordered but they could not provide me with any tracking status and transferred me to the department that could provide me the status. Unfortunately I was on hold for over an hour and no-one picked up my call and I had to hang up. I then received an email stating the drive was going to be replaced and that the drive had been ordered and once the service department received it they would then ship it to me and I could get tracking details. After waiting 3 days for with no update I called yet again and they again could not provide any update. At that point requested a refund so I could purchase an WD drive knowing their drives are generally very reliable and in the event one of their drives does fail you have a new drive within a couple days. I have no doubt this drive itself is probably a very good drive and I just happen to get a bad one, that happens but when the customer service is the opposite of customer service I cant recommend this drive or Samsung for this reason. I have had a couple WD drives fail me in the past and they immediately send out a new drive provided the failed drive is under warranty and provide you a timeline to return the failed drive or youll be charged. Very easy and great service, you can have a replacement drive within 2 days and be back up and running. Unfortunately Samsung doesnt value their customers enough to provide actual customer service. Im now on 2 weeks without my PC due to this and Im on hold with Samsung attempting to get a refund while writing this review. This is beyond a joke and unacceptable for a company like Samsung. I will never purchase another drive from Samsung. I will update this review after Im done being on hold for however long and whatever whoops I have to jump through to get this resolved.

> 24 hourJust built a new PC and my old NVME is a 950 Pro which I still use, 2500MBs/1400MBs or something like that and it actually exceeds those speeds. This drive was a hair under, within the margin of error. I have my POST time set to 2 seconds. With my other drive I would be in windows in about 6-7 seconds from turning on the power, but now Im in windows before my monitor even powers up, Id say 4 seconds. Crazy...

> 24 hourI like the speed of the 980PRO. I have about 10 different M.2 SSDs of varying sizes, capacities, generations, etc. I had hoped to use this one in a mini PC, but found that the factory heat sink is too large for that use. I decided to use it in an enclosure (a bit of a waste for an SSD in this speed range), but even that was a challenge as it would not fit in any regular SSD enclosures. I cant really rate the full speed of the device since I could only use it with an external enclosure and only with one of about 10 different enclosures that I tried. If the heat sink were only a couple of millimeters thinner, things would have been so much easier. If you are putting this in a PC that has lots of room, I think having the heat sink is a great idea, just didnt work in mini PCs for me.

> 24 hourGreat product, easy to install and massively sped up my load times on my games. Initially had a problem with it trying to boot from the SSD and not detecting my HDD with my os. Just make sure your boot device in in SATA 1 port. I had my HDD in SATA 6 for cable management reasons and the onboard M.2 comes in the boot sequence after SATA 1.

> 24 hourThe PS5 has a less than adequate storage capacity for the modern gaming age. Considering that the average game size is between 50-100gb, and there are some even more massive (call of duty >200gb’s) expanding the storage was absolutely necessary.

> 24 hourI trust samsung drives more than any other. Ive had solid state media from other brands die after a year. Sabrient rocket Gen 4 died in 8 months. SanDisk drive died after a year. I have 8 samsung drives and my oldest is a boot drive Ive had for 9 years its still fine. I have almost a dozen micro sd cards from Samsung, none have ever given me problems. I have 6 SanDisk micro sd cards. One died after 2 years. Also these drives are crazy fast, and prices have gotten pretty great recently.

> 24 hourNormally this NVME is about 350 dollars but I was able to grab it on sale for 150 dollars. Using it for storing games, I am impressed how fast the load times are. Going from a HDD to this reduces loading times between 50-75% (only tested Doom Eternal and GTA V for these). Make sure your motherboard has at least a Gen 4 M.2 drive, otherwise you wont get the full potential of the incredible read/write speeds. For the price point I paid, definitely dont wait to upgrade.
