> 3 dayI brought the 2TB version of this 870 QVO and immediately felt it was slower than all my other Samsung SSD.... then I did a benchmark and the write speed are pathetically slow... Using the same benchmark I did it with my other SSD drives like a EVO 860 etc and the write speeds are normal at 500MB/s etc comparable to the standard and the read speeds... but this 870 QVO has crazy SLOW write speeds!!! AVOID

Greater than one weekI have a PCIx 3x NVME Samsung drive as my boot drive and recently purchased this to replace an aging 6TB hdd. What I can say is that for storage purposes this is plenty fast and unless youre running 10 Gbps ethernet will provide you all the bandwidth you need for streaming, games, files, or network sharing. The built in cache is tricky in that it reads extremely fast at a small file size (faster than the maximum of SATA 3) with speedboost on so to get an accurate idea you have to run larger and deeper Queue Depths. You can see in the images as the size of the file goes up the speeds drop. Now keep in mind the write speed is still way too fast for an SSD so Samsung Speedboost is likely using a combination of writing to RAM and writing that to Cache. Perhaps useful if you have a large excess of RAM but something to note. Temps on the all aluminium enclosure never exceeded 6 degrees above ambient temp with a slow 1500 rpm fan sort of in the vicinity of the drive so no need to worry about temps with this drive. Overall Im pleased with the drive, and happy to finally remove all hard drives from my desktop even with 5+ TB of files to store. Its quiet, fast, temps well, and is significantly more power efficient since its speed means its active time is tiny compared to an HDD.

> 3 dayNo complaints with this drive. It caught my eye as I have used this brand before with no issues. This drive went in seamlessly into my windows HP laptop. I loved that you can go onto samsung site for this drive and download a tool to clone your existing drive onto this one. You will need an adapter to hook up this new drive externally, once you do that the software handles the rest in cloning your internal drive to this drive. I cloned with no errors, opened up laptop and switched over to this new drive and the speed increase was seen immediately going from my HDD to this drive. This drive also comes with additional tools that you can download to run benchmarking and an excellent tools to continue to keep your drive in good health. I am very happy with the capacity options this drive offers, the big speeds enhancements it provided and the extra tools for helping keep this drive running in top shape.

> 3 dayNot ideal for playing games or transferring large files to. Slows to a crawl after the tiny cache is full.

> 3 dayReplaced Windows 10 OS boot disk “C”. I only use Samsung SSD’s because the migration tool is so easy and reliable.

> 3 dayInstalled it in a Mac mini late 2014 as part of a fusion drive. It worked with no problem at all!! Performance is great and I’m down to a 8 second boot up time :-)
