I was removing paint and mill scale from steel before welding it. Ive never used anything like these items previously. They worked great. If I was doing a large area Id use a 7 grinder, but the 4.5 was fine for my smaller edges. They lasted a bit longer than I thought they would, but since its my first time I have no frame of reference. The value I scored low simply because these were priced higher than a bunch I saw later. Obviously, I have no idea of the lesser price quality difference, if any. Try them!

work great for knocking off loose paint on my deck

I bought these after seeing a similar item used on a video to clean mill scale off of steel prior to welding. They work very very well, I see virtually no wear after descaling several pieces. Ive used brand name non woven abrasives for many years and expected these to wear much quicker. I would definitely buy them again.

We bought these disked to take impurities off of metal. It works great. It leaves the metal nice and smooth and easy to paint. These are the best ones we have found.

The strip dusc last quite a while, but during first use it was quite unbalanced and cause a great amount of vibrations.

Ive used theses to remove paint from steel for years. They work great but wear out fast. Once you get used to using them you can get them to last a little longer by adjusting pressure accordingly instead of going at it like crazy. The will remove a LOT of paint if you push them but theyll wear out in minutes, heck they even take chrome clean off an old bumper. I recommend these but understand what youre buying. They are made to be disposable not like a metal cutting wheel or flap-wheel that lasts for weeks, months or even years. I go through at least 3 of theses on a small project. Once theyre worn half way down the cant strip paint any more but the worn out disc can be used to polish steel surfaces to some degree. waste not want not, it does the trick in a pinch, worth holding on to.

Too powerful for most stripping jobs, will not work for stripping paint from wood at all cause it will grind away the wood too easily. Will even damage metal beneath paint/rust if not careful.
